20” Wheels XC60 - Likelihood of Flats?

I’m considering 19 vs 20 inchers on an XC60 and wondering about likelihood of flats in pothole infested NYC. I think I’d prefer the 20s but really don’t want to have to be dealing with flats all the time. Appreciate any input based on experience.

I had 21" rims on my XC90 for about a year before i switched it to 19". Never had a flat, but all too easy to curb rash the 21's in NYC.

Great to know, thanks Keith. How much did swapping out the wheels cost you? And how did you find the difference in the ride between the two? Why did you make the switch?
It was about $275, if my memory is correct, for mounting, balancing and software reprogram for different wheel size. Im sure a indy can do it much cheaper. Although not sure indy can readjust the car for different size wheel. I read other posters on here mount different wheels in their driveway and they seem to drive just fine.

The ride with the 19" seem a bit less harsh over the bumps. Also, no more worrying about dented rims from potholes and definitely no more worries about curb rash from parking. Although i would say the stock 19" tires seem to make more road noise than my 21 and 20" loaner i used. IMO, having driven a loaner XC90 with 20" , if my car came with stock 20" i probably would have just left it.
