We are about to place an order for OSD on an S60. We were really leaning toward the 2.4T but Volvo has a special program right now where if you order the T5 they guarantee delivery by Oct. 4 (vs. beginning of November for the 2.4T). They are also giving an extra night in Goteberg and free specialized drivers training. It sounds pretty cool and were anxious to get the car (and not too excited about traveling in the snow come November). However, is the T5 REALLY worth the extra $2400?
We are going out today to test drive both, however I am pretty confident we'd be happy with either vehicle. We are not speed demons and I test drove a base model that I was satisfied with.
TIA for your help!
Tanya

Tanya,
If you equalize the equipment levels (as best you can) you'll find the price differential to be substatially less. It's really a matter of whether you want all that equipment. Obviously the T5 will be faster, but that is also a matter of personal preference. The desicion is all yours...

Tanya,
Exactly like Freeworld said, it all depends on how much optional equipment you want on your new car. If you load a 2.4T up with a lot of options, it comes dangerously close to the price of a T5.
The OSD program is great and it sounds like you are going to get a really good deal on the T5. That is the car that I would go for if I were you, I think you will be happy with either of them though.
Option each of them exactly how you want them and see how the price differential plays out, if it is just $2,400, I would go for the T5. Good luck deciding, and welcome to Swedespeed!

-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 08-02-2001).]
