Anyone know where to source fresh bolts for the upper intake on the 2.4i V50 and S40 engines? IPD sells spark plug cover bolts, which technically it is the plug cover on these engines but they’re torx. I’ve snapped the head off of two with both a ratchet and my impact gun applying even minimal force. Pretty weak after 10 years. I’ve checked Tasca and FCP as well. I absolutely loathe this upper intake engine cover design.

There's nothing special about the thread, if that's what you mean. The large wafer head and Torx are common across Volvo engines for many years, they shouldn't be hard to find.

They can get tight because they're steel fasteners in aluminum threads. Put some antisieze on them, or just cycle them a bit when you change oil or service the engine every year or two and you'll be fine. Don't ever use an impact gun.
