Lol!

But here it is for now!

MAN does cold air make a difference!!! Dam you! I was about to do the same thing. At least in principal.
Regardless Very nice work!
Where did you get that plastic elbow that attaches to the maf. Looks perfectly molded for an intake.

One thing I would worry about is turbulence in the flexible air tube taking away from the efficiency of the air flow...
if you can replace that with something harder it would be the perfect intake. I think. Lol

Once I get that elbow in the snorkel will be the main source of air feed and the lower grille will be secondary. The snorkel will be a straight pipe and should have VERY little turbulance! Problem solved!
Its been a really fun / frustrating project but at the end of the day its worth it cause I get to spend one on one time with my car!
Thanks for the compliments!

Re: 2.4i Air Box Completed! Woot! (03basesedan)

So, Ive come up with an approx. price for the intake (see my for sale page http://www.s40forums.freeforum....html ).
$199 + shipping!

Now... when I make the final version it will be a combo of what I have already made AND use the stock snorkel. Similar to this:

But will use the filter that I have in my picture. Thats just to show how the snorkel plays a role!
I'm pretty excited about this intake! It really roars and makes the 2.4i way more fun to drive, so much for MPG!!!! I've been flying around town all day! Haha!

Butt dyno's are very inaccurate. S40 boy got any numbers to back up the feeling of power gain?
TheDane I can't belive that you could loose 20hp on a boosted engine. That had to have been the worst intake ever. If a boosted car looses power on an intake it means its NA counter part is screwed. Got any pics of what you did so we can compare

very nice custom work, but I think you will find that the piping you have used will flex under full throttle. but nice work either way.

Re: (zerocover)

I agree that butt dyno's are VERY inaccurate but drivability is one thing that you can tell a significant difference between. I will be going to Atlanta, Ga in the next month to get dyno results...
