My Volvo dealership tells me that I need to have the throttle unit replaced. This was diagnosed after I noted rough, vibrating idle and the ETS warning light coming on. The estimate is $900. (warranty is expired). Does this cost sound right?
The last time that ETS light came on in my car, they CLEANED the throttle body, and the problem hasn't recurred. With a $3.29 can of Gumout, you can probably do the same. I was told that this should be routine maintenance on the car; on the other hand, I've seen nothing in any owner's or aftermarket service manual about this being on the maintenance schedule. I'd certainly try it, though, before shelling out $900 for a new module.<P>Jim Rothe<BR>'99 S70 T5M<BR>
