Timing belt was replaced about 8000 miles ago. So it is on its third belt...had the right front motor mount replaced at the same time.
I'll claim a $5500 tax credit by donating it, so your offer costs me $1500!
Contact me if you want to negotiate:
[email protected]

If you claim a 5500 tax credit for a 97 Volvo w/ that many miles ...you'll most likely red flag for an audit from the IRS ; )
My offer is overly generous. No one really buys them anymore, and you can't even go to the dealer to trade them in.
You could get 3500 from Obama though if you trade it in as a " clunker". Just kidding.
Good luck w/ the sale.

Re: (Chilled Man)

If your Cassi was only a wag I'd give you the 6K stat.
I just need a wagon since we sold our SUV.

To Prof-
Pls don't take my offer as an insult. Its not. Its based on what these cars sell for and the demand for them vs. the current state of the economy.
Look at ChilledMan's C70T5 and what he has into it+its a stick @ 6K w/ waaay less miles than your's .
You're selling your R at 99 V70R prices. Just sayin.

Don't know what they're really worth, but with your mods, you might find a buyer in the mid to upper 5's, or possibly even closer to what you're asking.
Good luck w/ your sale - looks like a nice wagon.

Good correction, wrong choice of terms! My error.
It is a great one owner vehicle with every record possible.
But sadly it will go this week one way or the other (so says the decision maker in the family). So if you are in the Chicago area contact me and come and see it.
Thanks for the comments.

Re: (Prof)

Prof:
You may wanna double check that tax deduction. The tax law changed a coupla years ago and now rather than getting fair market value/book value, you get to claim that amount that the charity gets when it sells/auctions your car i.e. charity sells your car for $1,500, that's what you can claim on your taxes. You can, however, claim $500 with no documentation needed.
