1991 Volvo Bertone 780 Turbo Coupe/$2,850.00
Color: Red Pearl Metallic; Interior: Beige; Top: Tan; Trans: 4-Speed Automatic w/Overdrive; Mileage: 196,000
VIN # YV1HA8721MD011474/Serial Number 011474
$2,850.00USD
This is a very clean, high mileage rear wheel drive Volvo 780 Turbo Coupe, designed and built by Carrozzeria Bertone in Turin, Italy; one of approximately 8,515 cars produced worldwide. Bertone gave the 780 its own distinctive shape which set it apart from the other models, yet was still identifiable as a Volvo. Interior is characterized by sculpted bucket seats with height-adjustable headrests—reminiscent of Bertone’s classic designs for Alfa Romeo and Ferrari in the late 60's and early 70's. Seats are covered in hand-stitched leather. The engine is a turbo-charged 188 HP single-overhead cam inline 4-cylinder; cast-iron block, aluminum head, 2.3L displacement with a Garrett T25 or Mitsubishi TD04H exhaust driven, water-cooled turbocharger and intercooler pushing 206 ft-lbs. of torque at 3900 rpm. The suspension features MacPherson struts with coil springs in the front and multilink independent rear suspension with coil springs, anti-sway bar and Nivomat automatic leveling shock absorbers in the rear. This car needs a few things: tires (within 5K), blower motor, and passenger power seat switch. The left front headlamp has a hairline crack in the glass and the body has some slight dings and isolated surface rust (on right windshield pillar). All in all, a very nice daily driver example of this Volvo ‘legacy’ model. Lots of photos.
