Super rare stick shift wagon, 4Cyl great mileage(23-29 mpg range), nearly new tires & shocks, ice cold R134 A/C, one owner, garaged, shiny blue paint, black leather interior, inspected, PS, PB, huge cargo capacity w/o tall bulky exterior, handles well, runs & drives reliably, well maintained by Volvo Dealer. Includes snow tires on extra wheels. Asking $1100 (negotiable). Please contact John (H) 610-565-1863 Evenings/weekends (W) 610 669-2180, (C) (610) 505-1863 Located in Media, PA (Near Philadelphia) VIN#YV1FX8856G1057063
While this car is no “spring chicken” with decent care and feeding, it should provide several more years of faithful service. I have maintained it meticulously according to the factory maintenance schedule including regular oil/fluid changes, leather prep, and waxing. The Catalytic converter has less than 60k miles on it, and I recently replaced timing belt. New shocks and tires were installed in 2008.
So why am I selling? I've driven this trusty car for 23 years and I can’t find a new vehicle that matches the unique combination of cargo space, good gas mileage, handling, decent power, very narrow turning radius, low roof height (for hoisting sporting equipment on a rack) and stick shift features. I was just about ready to make some cosmetic repairs (headliner, new radio, odometer) and commit to drive it another 5 years. However, after a several year search, finally found a lower mileage stick shift 740 wagon that actually was in better condition than this vehicle, so I decided to replace it.
Full disclosure: The head liner is in place, but not in good shape, the rest of the interior is quite presentable, but not perfect. There are a few very minor exterior blemishes and a few specks of parking lot rash (both are hard to detect from 10 feet away), the electric antenna does not telescope (but still works at half mast), the radio needs to be replaced (a used spare is included), odometer needs to be repaired (broke about 1000 miles ago) and driver’s floor mat has a wear spot. To the best of my knowledge everything else works.

Re: 1986 745 GLE Wagon 4sp OD Stick Shift (pjphye)

Have photos? Know how to post photos? I’d suggest tossing them on Flickr and then posting them here.

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. I could not figure out how to attach photos to this post. I'll need to set up a Flickr or similar account and post the URL. If you would like to see some pix, please send me your email address and I'll forward some shots to you.
Thanks, PJP
