I'm getting ready to tackle my 240DL Master Cylinder and J-Block issue. I've got mushy brakes and think I need to either repair or replace the master cylinder and anything else that goes with it. Can anybody give a novice some good shop advice or lead me to a good web site that spells out that repair? Or if anybody is in the western washingtion area and just loves working on Volvo's....
Thanks for the help guys

Re: 1986 240DL Brack Job Help (JTcapa)

well its pretty easy task takes a lilltle time, but never the less can be quite easly done.try not to get brake fluid on the inner guard, as paint will vanish! if you are gonna remove the brake booster set aside many hours as this a prick of a job as the bolts are hard to get too. clean well around the brake sensor block to rid of dirt makes job easyer.try bleeding the brakes fisrt if the pedal dost feel good. if there is pressure being lost due to master cylinder then the brake light will apear...
michael.
