Newbie here and I already apologize for rehashing a topic that is probably discussed to death, but I can't seem to find any threads regarding 240 stereo installations. I am planning on putting 4 new speakers and a new head unit in my '82 242 this weekend and am looking for advice. The speakers should be pretty easy, as I have done that sort of thing before, but I have never had to cut up and rewire a new head unit. Wiring diagrams? Advice?
I am also looking for mounting advice. I would like to remove the original Volvo Sound tape deck and put the new head unit in the same location (i.e. lower dash, under the fan/AC controls, not in the upper cubby area). Obviously they are going to be different sizes. Are their any aftermarket suppliers that manufacture housings for this kind of thing? I suppose I can always make one, but I am just wondering. Any crazy things I need to be aware of?
