This 1966 Volvo was brought to us by a gentleman who had purchased the car in 1983. Originally from Cocoa Beach, FL this car was on the road for about 8 years before it was relegated to a garage and “waiting on TLC”. When our customer bought the car he had every intention of restoring it himself, but as is the common case – life came first. Finally deciding that “now is a good a time as any to get it worked on” he brought it in to us.

When the vehicle arrived, the paint had already been removed. The body is very solid, so we jumped right to media blasting. Media blasting revealed very little rust on the body, but there was some damage that would need to be repaired.

There were a few areas on the cross member that were rusted and needed repair. They were cut open, repaired and replaced.

We've been doing a lot of media blasting on the Volvo and its parts. Once completed, the sections to be repaired were covered in a weldable primer, and the rest of the body and its parts covered in epoxy to protect from rusting
