I'm looking for a windshield visor for a 1947 444. 1st, I'm not even sure one was made for it. 2nd, does anyone know if a 544 visor is fitable?
Any condition. Anywhere on the planet.
Thanks,
jim, 444, 544, Jensen, ES, 242ti

You're going to need to write the factory to see if they can help you

I just searched the catalogue for the most comprehensive vintage volvo parts supplier that I know of, and there was no mention of a windshield visor fo either the 444 or the 544.
They only list parts that they have in stock and available for sale. In my experience, if they do not offer it for sale, then is does not exist.
You may need to search for a reproduction for a vintage domestic car that will fit with some modifications.

Welcome to Swedespeed, Jim.
Nice selection of classic Volvos you have there - any pictures?
The main difference on front windshields for the 444/544 would be the move from a 2-piece glass to a single piece of glass for the model year 196?.
Sun visor, eh?
A-huntin' we will go...
George Dill

Re: 1947 444 (jimbobvolvo)

Thanks guys. Good input and quick too. The 444 is my newest car but the oldest. (also thought to be the only '47 in the US) I know that the Visors were made for later 444s (50s) but I can't find anything about the '47. This car is original except for a repaint. I'd like to keep everything as new from dealer as possible, but they do look cool with the visor. I'm still collecting info. Keep it coming and thanks much.
jim

My point, all of these, either by appearance or accompanying text, are modern day fabrications.
I really do not believe that was an available accessory.
Good luck with the search
