My dealer (Carlson in Bay Area) says replacing rear shocks will cost $1800. This seems nuts. This dealer does not have a rip-off reputation AFAIK, but this seems crazy. I have a 2003 XC90 5 cyl. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: (Qbrozen)

I took it to an independent garage and they said they didn't think I had self-leveling because they did not see any air hoses going to the front shocks. But they didn't have a lot of time to look at it (I just pulled in unannounced). Is there a clear way I can tell if I have self leveling shocks or not?
Also, if I do have self leveling shocks, and they were an option, can I install ordinary shocks now. I don't tow with this or carry heavy loads.

Interestingly enough, this was just posted in another thread:
http://www.swedespeed.com/news....html
they swapped.
by the way, its only rear self-leveling, so you can't tell by looking at the front.
