I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not 18x8" pegs would fit on a 2000 volvo s80 (2.9). I currently have the stock rims it came with which are 16x7. If SkyWriter is reading this, someone on the tech board told me that you've done this with yours
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

uhmm...as per cope's post (irrelevant), skywriter has the 17x8 pegs.
the 18x8 pegs will fit and you will obviously need the accompanying tire size to match the speedo calib.
btw, pegs are hawt

Re: (volvo4lif3)

hi!
yes the 18x8 should fit nicely. even with the drop springs, i have plenty of room to squeeze stock tires under the wheel well to take another inch in the wheel. (go out and check) ok i have 225/50-17's with just short of two fingers at the crest of the wheel well lip and top of tire with the wheels straight. the turning radus of the S80 is pretty limited, so i don't think you'll ever see that top constraint on the tire, as the top of the wheel can't turn out of the well. i would have to eyeball it more to comment on any other dimensions.

Junibunnie is rocking 18x8 pegs with 235/40/18's lowered, and isn't rubbing at full lock....so lower away
btw sky, off topic a little, but I wanna get a drop in FMIC next. What do you think? and have you installed a boost gauge yet?

I talked to an admin from volvospeed, and he said he could get me a fmic for 800$.. It would be worth it, ive only heard great things about it. Also, I think that heico has some "samco" like hoses for our cars as well. Too bad I cant call them up in Sweeden and ask about it. I have a boost gauge, and i need to get it installed, but cant find any mounting options. So much to do, so little time. Hit me up sometime. BTW, how loud is your exhaust compared to stock? I hate anything real loud. Quiet is the way to go imo.

Re: (volvo4lif3)

the exhaust is louder than stock. but not in anyway offensive. in fact, it's a nice mellow sound down low, and a slight growly noise when you hop on it. i can't remember what the stock sounded like, but then we were finished with the installation, and had it up on the lift looking for leaks, i saw stuck that it really sounded nice
looking at the location of the air charge hoses on the stock setup. i suspect you could place a new FMIC in front of the radiation/condenser/IC stack, and plumb new hoses to side entry/exit IC and bypass the stock IC. you'll have to remove the stock one to have room to rout the hoses though. there's not much space to see what you need to do unless you undress the nose.
