Has anyone here with an R-Design car actually run 17" wheels on it?

I was going down the path of getting Volvo 17" factory wheels for the winter, yielding a narrower tire while retaining sufficient sidewall. But when on the phone, there was some uncertainty if the R-Design cars can have 17" wheels?
Supposedly we have about 20 mm larger brake discs (336 versus 316 mm in the front). I was actually unaware of the larger disc specs.

So, before i order wheels that won't clear calipers, I wanted to check.

Thanks in advance.

On Tireracks website, they show that 17s are possible in their fitment selections. So I have to believe that certain ones would work with our brakes. I have not personally tried it though.

I did see that site and it's not very helpful, since 17.5" brakes would be monsters - 445 mm! I assume that includes the caliper on top of the diameter of the disc, which is very hard to measure accurately?

It does specify the stock wheel offset though - ET of 55mm.

Or do you mean that any 17" wheel that doesn't have that language would work? So for example - Portunus would work while Canicula would not?

After market, from the tire shop. They were made to fit the Volvo offset though.
