It looks like 205/45 17 is the size. Discount Tire Direct lists 5 choices. I would like a tire that drives well in the wet and light snow if possible. We don't need a super handling tire.
I love my Dunlop SP 5000s on my VW but they are not available at this 17" size.
Thanks,
Chris
Kumho
Ecsta Supra 712
Race inspired, ultra-high performance for the street
205/45ZR-17 88W B
UTQG: 280AA
$91.00

Falken
Ziex ZE-502
One of the hottest designs for all-season high performance.
The C70 calls for a 225/45 17 tire. What is the correct size for the S70? I believe these wheels are 17x7.5, or at least that's what the brochure states for the wheels I bought. Are the Volans a 17x7? or 7.5?
thanks.
[This message has been edited by 83caddy16v (edited 10-24-2001).]

The 'Canisto' wheels for the C70 are 17x7.5 and require 225/45/17 size tires. The 'Volans' are 17x7 and require 205/45/17 size tires. The OEM standard equipment tires for the 'Canisto' wheels where Michelin MXX3 225/45/ZR17's, but those are out of production.
If you want all-round high performance, I think that the best tire is the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position 225/45/YR17 with UNI-T AQ. My next choice would be the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 225/45/ZR17.
Check out TireRack.Com, I think that Swedespeed might have a deal going with them as well. You might want to ask George about it.
-Drew
