I see the newer Mustang Bullit wheels is a common swap. Are they the proper offset or are spacers needed. Thanks. If there are better places to find this info feel free to let me know. Just trying to put together a sleeper.

Due to a self imposed ceiling on the costs involved I'm left with some used 17" newer wheels. What would you recommend for a thickness on the spacers if the wheels were in an optimum alignment? I have yet to tackle this and have a look but is there any beef that can be machined off the volve hub without a safety issue? Do just the fronts needs machine work? Are spacers needed at all corners? Not looking to slalom this car just putt around.

Basically this.. The front doesnt really need any spacers to work, but does need the center hole machined larger, which is fairly cheap.. The rear wheels will need about a 1/2 inch + spacers in order to clear the inside of the wheel housing.. The Offset for the rear is really off, due to the narrow track width, relative to the wheel opening.. These cars are freakishly narrow in the track width relative to the actual fender openings.. They could have added major track width to the suspension, without even needing to do any body work.. I personally like my wheel wells filled out, instead of the wheels stuck a few inches inset to the wheel arch..

It's never going to end.

Now for a real question related to this thread:

Have any of you guys that run larger aftermarket wheels had to use different spacers on the front and rear of the car? What is the offset of those Mustang wheels?

You only need different spacers if you have wheels with different offsets, or you want the wheels to sit at different depths in the fenders for some reason. As an example, on my car when I had tires that were one size too big, all 4 wheels would rub the fender, the rears when I hit deep bumps, and the fronts when I had the wheels turned and hit bumps. I dropped the tires down a size and no more rubbing anywhere.
