I thought I'd share some pictures I took of my 164 today with you folks. It's been a while since I've posted pictures of the car, and I just got back from being TDY for a while so I figured I'd take her out of the garage and clean her up. Hope you like the shots.

Thanks for sharing - again.

For you younguns, Temporary DutY.

This marvelous classic has come alive under your ownership.

History in the making.

Looking through the pictures one wonders if there have been more than one R Salesman 164.

Did it come original with white rear turn signal lenses? I don't think I've ever seen anything but orange before.

That's what was on the car when I purchased it, and I assume they are original. Perhaps the orange faded over time?

Lee, I can see a trace of amber around the mounting screws on the turn signals on both sides. I believe they simply painted white ones (really!), and the paint faded quite quickly. Other European cars of that era had the same problem --Porsche, I think -- and special paint is available to restore them.

Thanks for the info Phil and George! I always thought that was rust residue in the screw holes that I couldn't for the life of me remove when I was polishing up the lenses. Regardless, my car's not 100% original anyways, and I like the all-white look.

I know it's not Photoshop, but holy cow, does that car look GREAT!!!

Its hard to imagine your car looking that good straight from the factory, much less a 38 year old daily driver. Incredible!!

I've finally decided to start the research on putting Megasquirt in my 164. Time to get it back on the road. It'll never look as good as yours, though.

Seb, are you having trouble with D-jet or is this a wild hare/hare? If you need help with 164 D-jet parts I have some from Kent's collection.
BTW the 72 164 he gave me is doing great other than I am awaiting my refurbed booster from PBX in San José. Should be here any day.
Will have to install it in the early morning since at the moment it is 102° here...

I like the idea of a modern computer system and the potential for much better running and emissions. A bit of a project, too.
