All prices include exchange rate, delivery and install costs if I had someone else do the work.

Items in red are not installed yet. Amounts in green indicate money gained from selling item.

R Kelly Mod List

I was about to install a FMIC, then I updated this... gotta decide, how much would $1200 (parts/install cost) be worth in 18 years when our son who is scheduled to arrive this week needs to go to college... is that cost worth keeping the power I've grown addicted to in Florida?

And here I told myself, I'll buy the R. It has 300 hp. It has a sport suspension. It is fully loaded. No reason to ever modify it, its perfect already. And then I met all of you...

This is why I am in so much trouble with my wife, people like you!
As we all know there is no such thing as a car that won't benefit from modifications, especially with crazy car people like us on the forum.

Between the R (just started spending, thought I could live without modding it), my tubo ghia, and the ducati I don't want to even think about what I have spent. The good thing is we do have the college fund.

Your car is great now, Do the FMIC when you get there if you can't take it any longer. By that time, there will be a readily available, well designed kit for less outragous price.

I have to quote a big yellow man; D'OH!

It's the same with everthing else. You think, "I will never tune this car, it's fast enough". Yeah right!
You get use to the speed, then you want more! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Your car looks great BTW! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

I can get all the pieces I need for $800, it is the 5 hours of labor for install that drives the price to $1200+.

And the dealer 30 minutes north of here just did 2 V70Rs, so I would like to use them (no guarantee a Volvo dealer in Florida would even try).

And since you are still there posting, I must have passed the pilots the wrong coords... damn.

I just heard an explosion next door. You must have got my neighbor, the one with the lowered and tinted A4. You just couldn't kill the R, its not in your nature. Thanks for getting the Audi snob though

In 18 Years, your son would love to drive the R to college with 12K in mods...heck it might even be retro cool by then
At this point the FMIC will complete the package and you have someone who could do it locally now.

wish you and your family well this week...

Ok I might have missed this earlier but:
All those mods and no ECU upgrade why?

The ECU mod is the one that has the biggest chance of causing warranty issues if a problem develops. Also, most everything else can be put back to stock before a dealer visit. Even a softloader ECU mod could be discovered if they look hard enough, because of the anomalies left. But the improved stealth factor is a big selling point for the PPC, and why you see a lot of people admit in the anonymous survey they have PPC, but never see them post it in a public forum.

I think the next riskiest was possibly the iridium spark plugs because that is actually changing something in the engine, but I'm trusting IPD that they sell quality product.

Everything else is just improving air flow, etc, hard to say that reducing back pressure on the engine would damage anything IMO.

Dealer was concerned about ATE super blue brake fluid though... not sure what problems high quality brake fluid could cause?

I don't see why. There has been one report of a brake system failure where Super Blue was used and dealer claimed fluid as the cause. Can't remeber who it was.
I have been driving my '97 850T5 with Super Blue all the time, no problems whatsover.
After taking the car apart last year all the fluid which came out looked like new. Took apart one Brembo caliper because of a seal which had separated. To make sure I replaced all the fluid seals inside and the dust seals, had the cups out also and there wat no sludge to be found, all like new.
This car had done several track days and has been subject to extreme abose and highspeed driving and braking.

R Kelly Mod List

I would suggest to place the wheels in a separate list.
Also I don't see why the G-Tech is on the list..

You should subtract the amount youi've made selling the R stuff over the forum from the $11,3XX.XX total, because technically you've made that money for the same reason that you've spent the other money on the list.

Hey, my financial planner is always reminding me about how much $1000 invested today will be worth in the kids college fund in 15 years from now... and then he drive off in his sweet 540 beemer with a good number of $$ spent on mods.

You know how hot Florida summers are? I think you WILL get the FMIC!

Funny, about thinking the stock R is good enough my dear's first comment regarding mods was "Have you driven an R, do you really need to make it faster?" What a silly question

You are assuming I make money. On mugs I make a couple of $ now, because set up fees were paid previously and shipping costs are spread amongst 50+ mugs. But it takes quite a bit of time to label and ship 90 mugs all over the world (total I've done over last year). I would need to charge $20 each to actually "make" money, not $16.

And again, I make a little off the CAI kits, but those are incredibly time intensive for the research and to get stuff from 4 different suppliers and re-package for you all. I would have needed to charge $100 each to "make" money, not $65 each, but after people started having heartburn (same people who were going to pay $300 to Evolve) I just sold them for cost to keep from sending the hose back. BTW, all 8 are sold, and I'm not doing any more.

Kinda sad its not really faster after all that money...but hey power isnt everything, you've got it suiting your taste thats what matters.

My car is SOOO much faster than stock, and it doesn't even have the lightweight OZs on yet.
