I never heard of any racetrack or anything giving a 0-60 time. Did he have it professionally tested or something?<P>

Well of course-- it's a Quattro Coupe! Those things have been bad-assed for years! Heheh, I plan on buying the less sexy and less expensive '84 4000 quattro. The car is the only year for the older (and IMHO more attractive) bodystyle in the USA. A relatively clean example, if you can find one, is about $1000. Not too hateful.<P>The motor isn't all that inspring, with a regularly aspirated 5cyl. However, it all bolts in.

Audi Sport Quattro<BR>Made in EARLY 80s as homologation special, can STILL hang dead even with the Lancer EVO on all numbers, courses etc...<P>It is THE most badass car ever, it will be mine.......someday. And of course, tuned, they're rediculous. By the way, they're STILL worth about 65 grand and they are the reason why quattro is no longer allowed in racing.<P>

Did you make it down to Monterrey in '99. There were about 10 Sport Quattros that made it to the Historics (Audi was featured marque that year).

The Monterey Historics are well worth the trip. As a huge Audiphile also, I was in heaven at the show. They had a very nice collection of the Auto Union "Silver Arrow" racecars, and in addition an A4 STW racecar, an R8, an Audi V8 DTM and more. It was pretty amazing.

I saw the topic name and figured that it was likely one of those posts where someone makes an outrageous claim etc......<P>I saw the first graph and then started to believe, but I do wonder about the graph. That's the weirdest looking timeslip I've ever seen.<P>With everyone else seemingly in agreement and more knowledgeable than I, I believe the numbers now and I wonder what sort of modifications this car has undergone?<P>I'm also slightly depressed as I had a chance to buy a Quattro Coupe when I bought my A4. I remember seeing it on the lot for $18k Cdn. and thinking, boy that's a lot to ask for a 1991 even if it has low miles. I didn't really know what I was looking at! Oh, to think I could have had one of these beauties, now you guys tell me.<P>
