Two questions...(1) Bulb warning light comes on occasionally when brake pedal is pressed. It has come on when making a turn. And it stays off for days at a time. (2) Noticed an odor (like mold?) coming from vents, Service (Volvo dealership) sprayed "Lysol?" Noticed odor changed to a Lysol type smell, now it is stronger, a more burnt smell (Antifreeze?) 1997 Volvo 850 150K miles. Any ideas?

Re: (1) Intermittent Bulb warning (2) Odor from vents. (Buddyg)

Are you smelling coolant? I imagine that all the 850s are due for a new heater core-if they haven't been replaced previously. You might also want to see if your cabin filter needs replacing-assuming of course that somewhere along the lifespan of the 850 someone installed the adapater and filter. Have a wonderful evening

Re: (1) Intermittent Bulb warning (1sciroccofahrer)

Check the rear window stop light for corroded bulb contacts, all the others as well. Mold could be a sign that the car was salvaged from a flood. Common practice. There is no law yet in place to require this on a car history. This would also account for the light contacts. De-Oxit is available online. I tried it and it works. I unknowingly bought a car from a flood so I know all about it.
