Found a 2007 S60R M66 in the same interior/exterior color configuration as my 04 M66 ~3 hours away on Craigslist that's being parted out after a blown engine. I'm looking to steal the steering wheel, the trim pieces directly above the doors on the roof (by the roof rack/rail latches), the trim piece that goes around the spaceball, and a few more misc. items I'm forgetting.

Anyone know if the 07 interior spaceball trim fits on the 04? Or if the steering wheel from the 07 (not the airbag, just the steering wheel) fits on the 04? Just trying to make sure I don't buy parts that won't work on my 04. Anything else I should know for the 2004 model year in terms of compatibility with the 2007?

Thanks!

Shifter trim is different. Buy the center console also and do a facelift?
Center console, as in... the whole shebang? That might be too much for me.

Any thoughts on whether the steering wheel (minus the airbag) fits on the 04 from the 07?

Yes. From shifter to back. But it isn't bad job as you might think. Few screws off and wiggle old one out and new one in. I think there are videos of the job

I replaced my headlamps with Osram CBI's on Saturday night, and while the side with more clearance in the engine bay (which IIRC is the driver's side headlamp) was an easy job, the passenger side bulb was not so much. As I was undoing the stupid metal clips that hold the silver bulb base in, my glove got stuck on the end of it, and while I was pulling my glove off of the clip, the clip came undone from however the hell it was put on there in the first place.

TL, DR: the metal clip that holds my passenger side main headlamp bulb in came out from the hinge-like place it sits in usually, and I can't get it back on and get it properly seated so as to correctly and fully seat the bulb into its place.

How do I fix this? Has anyone ever encountered this before? If there was more working area between the ECU box and the back of the headlight assembly, it wouldn't be such a big issue. But before I take the bumper off to get the entire headlamp assembly out, does anyone know how to fix this? Do I need to get a new clip? Please help, I'm literally driving with the passenger side headlamp not fully aligned and correctly seated in its socket...

And I've also finally been able to realize that the driver's seat heater does not work. The seat simply does not warm up. Is there a module or dedicated fuse for this that I could check?

Last but definitely not least, I bought these wiper blades off of FCPEuro to replace my Rain-X wipers that are on the car currently. They simply do not do what they are supposed to do. But I just cannot figure out how to get the new Bosch ones onto the hook-style end of the wiper arm. Anyone know what I need to do? The Bosch blades came with two small clips about the size of paper clips but I'm not sure what to do with them and I can't find instructions anywhere.

Congrats on the new ride! I just bought a 2014 manual with 110k, so will be following your progress.
Thank you! I assume you mean 2004 manual with 110k rather than 2014? Congratulations to you too.

Is there any way (like with the CFE+) to add, where the automatic gearbox R's would display P/R/N/D/1/2/3/4/5, the M66 R's to display their current gear? That would be really useful/helpful...

Also my driver's side heated seat has been out since I got the car. Where should I start to diagnose this problem? Are the fuses for the driver and passenger side seat heaters the same or different? A local indy Volvo specialist said it was most likely the driver's side heated seat grid. I don't know anything about this, so is that part even replace-able? How difficult is it? I'd rather first consolidate the problem to be the grid before I purchase it.

The orange lights pop up on the heated seat button just like normal, but the seat simply doesn't heat up. I'll try to do a VIDA scan and see if anything pops up there, as well.

You could try submitting a request to them. I know from datalogging, the ECU knows what gear you're in. Might be something easy to do, might be impossible. The cluster is the same, so it would be kind of neat to have it show the gear you're in.

Is there really a need for that? I either look at the shifter to visibly see what gear it's in or touch it to feel what gear it's in.

Personally, I do feel a need for that. I learned how to drive stick on my R, and I got it back in September. It's just a nice thing to have on top of the issue @D-man9000 described above. I often find myself doing the same.

While replacing my headlamp bulbs, I broke off the passenger side headlamp's silver weird-looking retaining clip that flops around but is pushed down and hooked under the hooks to hold the bulb in. I really need to fix this but I'm not even sure how. The clip itself isn't broken, I think it might be mis-shapen and it has come out from its resting position since on one end it freely hinges, and on the other end it hooks in. If anyone has ever replaced the headlamp bulbs in their R they'd know what I'm talking about.

Do I need to buy a new clip only, or a whole headlamp assembly? What's the P/N on the metal clip? It's not even a clip, it's more of like a weirdly-shaped metal piece.

Here's what it KINDA looks like:
Gesture Finger Thumb Font Nail

PLEASE HELP! For some reason, both the headlamps are aimed very high, the passenger (faulty) side more than the driver's side.

Oh come on, you've never been in 4th, thinking you were in 2nd, and shifted to 5th, thinking you were going to 3rd?

Just me?
Uh, no. I can tell from the position of the shifter which gear I'm in. I have been driving this car for 15 years, so it's very obvious to me. For a new driver, it will come after a while and just be second nature.

Pushing this back up to the top of the forum, I'm not sure if everyone will appreciate me making a whole thread just for this.

I'm driving half-blind at night, and I can't find the retaining clip for the xenon headlamps on the Rs, I can find the retaining clip for the halogen bulbs via FCPEuro but I cannot find the xenon ones.

I can't help you with the clip but I can say that if your headlights are misadjusted there's like a white plastic bolt-looking thing that you just screw one way or the other to adjust the headlight. Not sure if that's your issue but thought I'd let ya know.

Thanks for letting me know, I am familiar with the headlamp level adjuster nut from my XC90.

Thanks though! I'm keen on trying that... just after my car is no longer cross-eyed!

Ok, I apologize for the spam but this just came up and is semi-important...

I got new tires yesterday (yay!) from Discount Tire. I got Michelin Pilot Sport 4 A/S tires. My R has the 18" rims, so I got, well, 18" tires!

But, now near full lock (not even full lock) the tires are rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. They didn't do this before with the previous tires (I think they were Pirelli Zero Neros or something, 235/40 ZR 18 95W).

Is this normal? I'm assuming not, so what should I do? Take the car back to Discount Tire? I just went with whatever they told me is fine for the car, but I knew I wanted to go with Michelins so I chose the PS 4 A/S tires.

Thanks!
