I finally gave in and ordered the Heico grill for my '08 s40 and I need some suggestions on what color to have it painted. My car is Titanium Grey Perl (#455) and I don't really want to go all black or color match the car. Does anyone know what color the grill below is painted with? Thanks!

I think the one shown is just a ti gray or anthracite...I think on a ti gray vehicle like yours the black or darker anthracite would look awesome, but it depends on the color of your wheels, etc. I am all about color coordination. Congrats btw on the purchase, I have the Heico grille on my car (05) and love it. Definitely overpriced but still nice.

Here's a quick photochop. I have the r-design mirror covers and currently have the same wheels as the photo below.

After seeing your actual car/color I say go color matched with your body color, as mentioned above, or with black.

Black would be killer with that color car.

I say either color match the car or color match to the mirror covers to tie it all in together. Don't go black, I have the black IPD grille on my Ti R and it looks okay but it kinda looks out of place. You'll see it at the GTG.

I want to pick this grill up as well but id rather keep my R Design badge on the front instead on the heico badge..... is the badge itself removable or will it take some cutting to get it off?

I decided to color match the mirror covers and it should be back from paint tomorrow. I'll post a few pics when I pick it up.

Re: (USAF 2010 T5)

I'll definitely post some pics of the install. I've removed the OE grill once before with no issue. The grill on the V50 shown above is painted. It ships as a raw black plastic that requires finishing / sanding. The mesh also needs to be pre-fit prior to paint (a good idea considering one of my pilot holes for the screws that hold the mesh went straight through and needed to be filled before paint) I'll swing by the shop and pic it up this evening. In the mean time here's a link to the Heico install guide pdf = http://www.heicosportiv.de/nex...d=471

Re: (USAF 2010 T5)

Got the grill back from paint tonight and I'm pretty happy with the result. The color is nearly a perfect match but the finish is a little off. The side mirrors have more of a metallic finish. Either way I think it'll look descent... We'll have to wait and see though. I don't have the time to install it tonight.
