Re: (RainyS60R)

Then again, sometimes I think I should just buy a Exige or Cayman for play time and a Scion Xc for a hassle-free daily driver (yawn).

Even this toned-down Banglism is just a slightly better disaster to my eyes. The performance of my '04 S60R exceeds all known road laws in North America, and I bought it for the road. Not the track. Plus it would kick that BMW's butt to the curb in any inclement weather which is very common in my planetary jurisdiction.
Also, big enough five spoke wheels and sport springs would make an Aztek look much more attractive. Not handsome, just more attractive.

The Pacer was a better looking vehicle.
There are lots of beautiful cars out there, old and new, but the fact that the R "may" require the GDP of a small nation to maintain outside of warranty means I will most likely sell just before the coverage expires - reliable as it may be (knock on wood). I agree, though, the R is one of the best looking cars out there at the moment. Timeless as the design may be, it will eventually look out of date and tired.
- Tryg

Re: (RainyS60R)

And this thread belongs in the R forum why? Beemer envy? Just joking, I made a similar thread over in the car lounge forum. I knew this thing was going to put the R to shame as soon as I heard rumors about it. Just wait until the 335xi sedan comes out. No more "oranges to apples" excuses. Regarding its looks, well it's up to you to decide which is more important - enjoying the way the car drives and performs or the way it looks when you're standing outside the car and it's sitting there doing nothing. Don't get me wrong I love the looks of the R but I personally enjoy driving a car than staring at it all day. My car hardly gets a second look by anyone anyway. The 3 isn't that ugly and soon it'll be everywhere so it won't stand out anyway.

Re:

man i knew this new 335i was going to be a PITA right the moment i heard of it. even in stock form it can outperform most volvos. i don't wanna even think about what kind of a monster it can become if modded.

Looks best at dusk, can't see the tiny scratches or swirl marks and there's enough light for the body to reflect. If I can see my parked car through the window when I'm eating at a restaurant I'll usually look at the car instead of my fiancee, which gets her pretty upset to say the least. I just wish it drove as good as it looks.
