05 S60R torque mount

Hey fellas, need your advice....was getting ready to buy an 05 S60R with 39k miles on it, went and took it to volvo to have it inspected to make sure everything is straight, and they said that it needed almost $700.00 worth of work (well that is including the 40k service they said it needed) my main concern was that they said the engine torque mount is very weak and needs replacing.

is this a known issue on these cars besides the angle gear, or is it just an indication that it was driven hard?

appreciate all your help and the reason i ask is because the dealer who has the car said he won't budge on the price or split the cost or anything...

It's normal. You can easily change it yourself.

What price is the dealer asking for the car?

It is a normal problem, and not a big deal at all.

Also, do NOT allow him to do any kind of "XX" mile service. biggest ripoff going.

What are the other items detailed?

By the way, that mount should be covered under warranty (or are you out of that on time?)

The car is out of warranty, the dealer is asking 16.9k for the car + TTL.
the other stuff is: the fuel door hinge is broken and the parking E-Break needs adjusting..so that wraps up what volvo found wrong with the car.

without the service it'll be like around 400 bux to take care of the other stuff including the mount.

I'm not very mechanically inclined, i wish i was, i would've done the mount myself.

it was 150 for the motor mount, 60 for the e-brake and 45 for the hinge + tax so give or take a bit under 400 or so

lol thanks for the offer JRL, and I would if it had the aero kit- its a must for me i just love how the R looks with that factory Kit, to me it just sets it apart

hahaha true but the car would move to texas and won't be in FL. I moved not too long ago just haven't updated my profile.
If you come across an 05/06 R, manual and the kit then hit me up

All common issues, They are fun to fix! Easier than you might think. I went through the same thing when I bought mine, and at the time I knew what the issues were and how to fix them (Thanks to Swedespeed!). I would say it would cost $150 and a weekend to fix these problems. Good luck with whatever decision you make!

OK thanks Sholover, i appreciate the info, and thank you all guys....i'm kind of torn up, i really love the car- though the dealer is a dooch...but anyway we'll see what happens.
