I have been lurking for awhile now, and recently decided to make my account here. This is my car, and what I hope to do and have done with it.
bought at 130K June 2013 , 1 owner before me.

'04 S60 2.5T AWD
-stock Xenon head lights

:: :WINTER 2015:
Currently at 160K miles February 2015

[done]Stage(0)
Have done :
-[done]-replaced timing belt + water pump at 140K
[done]-replaced all filters [155K]
[done]-oil changed every 6-8K miles [most recent at 160,899]
[done]-new all weather tires at ~155K
[done]-a drain and fill of the power steering fluid [160,930] filled with CHF11s ~1.3 +Liters
[done]-replaced fuel injectors, coils, and spark plugs [168k miles]
What I need to do:
-recently have had the parking brake break, going to have to replace this {see this thread}
-repair the weather strip on top of the windshield [looking for this part]

Stage (2)
[done]-repaired fog lights, and the inner bumper part that the fogs mount to. see here : part #3 on this link
[done]-HID conversion for the Fogs (got some 55W HIDs at a good price)
turbo down pipe + catback exaust , snabb intake, fmic
-[front done]replace/ upgrade the suspension to performance suspension
-replace PCV hoses
-touch up all paint/paneling on the car

Stage(3)
-switch out turbo for K24 or 19t turbo
-new brakes, R rotors,R calipers (red)
-full spec upgrade to work with turbo [billet compressor wheel and matching compressor housing 19T or K24 at same cost] see here

-aesthetics :
--paint rims black [plastidip]and rotors black

On the edge about:
-a drain and fill of the transmission fluid [attempting to figure out what I need to fill with] [no current issues, may let it sit until a later date]

==computer upgrades I'm looking into==
-Euro fog
-shifting upgrade
-fluid reset for the transmission fluid
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
recently got a new tool kit ! then put it to good use 160K power steering flush and switch to CHF 11s
Basically, if anyone has any advice I'm 100% up for hearing it. This is my first car, and I am looking to learn.

Looking forward to you build this car up! I don't have much to input as it looks good, but make sure you get a tune and bigger injectors if you put a K24 or 19T turbo in there. I have a 05' AWD 2.5T swapped with a 19T turbo. I've posted that I got tired of it rather quickly, but that's sort of changed. I have since fixed my throttle body tube and rear O2 sensor and now the car is great to drive. Pulls great, boosts great, and is just all around fun. However I do think it's a heavy car to really try and make good hp/ton. I read so many curb weights, but the average I see is 4000 lbs. With my 19T and 315~ hp that's only 158 hp at crank/per ton and maybe 120 to the wheels/per ton. At least there's boatloads of torque (about 360 ft/lbs total in my swap)!

I don't mean to put you off, it's still much faster and more fun with the turbo swap/upgrades. My initial point was to say I ended up dumping a lot of money into this car. Enough that I could have sold it, bought an S60R and put a little into that. So with how much I spent, the weight of the car, and the fact that it's an automatic makes me wish I had thought a little more about putting money into this car. Now that everything works well I don't regret it, it definitely gets up and goes... but it just was a good chunk of change.

I think this was my thread with the "build" but it's mostly questions and not anything like a write up. http://forums.swedespeed.com/showth...money-is-ready!-How-would-you-build-your-2-5T I'll try helping with questions, but there are plenty more knowledgeable people on here than me (plenty lol).

I have been thinking that is the main thing..with the car, but i think my resale at 160K miles is prob only 5k? ...tops which I dont think is enough to get an R ... how much did the total switch cost, about $1000 or was it the 2k number in the thread?
I seriously have been considering getting a shiftmatic/geartronic volvo...but once again it boils down to money

Oh, yeah I got my car with really low miles on it (under 40k) and still am only in the 60k range now. Plus I paid a little too much for it lol. It was more than $1,000 for sure. Turbo w/11 blade turbine was $1,065, tune was $580, refurb injectors $130 for the set, new silicone couple like $12, ECU removal tool $55 (unless returned for a full refund, but I just kept it) bringing it to $1842 for that. I also installed a front mount intercooler to make sure I could handle the power. Home made kit cost about $200-250 (replacing parts here and there, could be done for cheaper). Full exhaust through OBX to help with the bigger turbo was $575 (DP and catback, but you will spend $100-200 more to get a catalytic converter welded in if you need one). New fluids went into the car, new coil packs, OEM plugs, snabb intake pipe, new PCV system... so it's over $3,000 and that doesn't include the other things I put into the car.

You can definitely get used turbos to help with price there. Injectors you could do the same, I got mine with the turbo from ARD. FMIC I saved about $500 on from not going aftermarket... but my guess is you'll still spend over $1,000 easily.

I spent something like $6400 on the car before taxes and registration . I have put almost 850 into it including tires,oil changes, water pump+ timing belt, break removal...for the parking break... ($100 at the shop labor ..i was watching it was a mess to get it operable)

I was thinking a used turbo then get the computer upgraded.. I figured my exhaust system would hold.. on the version I had, but at that cost it may not be worth it. I figure ill have my car for another 4 years or 9 depending on grad school... ( and keep this one because i love it) + and buy another, but a very lightly used manual technical when i graduate university...

The point of the upgrades I listed are to help support the extra power that can be made on these larger turbos. Swapping to a 16T could be more budget friendly instead of the 19T or K24, but of course at less power.

yesterday I flushed my power steering and switched from ATF to CHF 11s , paid for an oil change...because it was 8F and I couldn't wait any longer.

I also broke my fog mount + the inner backing to the bumper where it connects to on a block of ice that fell off a car..so im going to be looking into that repair ASAP.

I also decided that i want to put performance suspension into the car, pain the tires black, buy and paint R rotors black and use red R calipers...

so my next to do list looks like :

fix parking break
fix fogs
upgrade suspension
upgrade brake system
