I dove too, Tuesday. The Asians have yet to figure a way to install a soal in a car. On paper it is a hellava value. 34K real nicely equipped, very smooth power and a ton of options. Compared to a S60 2.4T, we got our job cut out for us. The only downfall, I felt was the transmission seamed to hunt around alot and was not smooth at all. I am interested in trying the stick when they arrive. <P>
Drew,<BR>Yeah...I finally had a chance to test <B>ride</B> the car this past weekend.<BR>Man...what a nice comfortable car for only 36K (Nav included)!!<BR>I fell in love with the car even I wasn't the one driving it. I could feel the power and torque even just sitting in the rear seat. What a comfortable car it was...especially for the price you pay, you were pretty much getting the better comfort than a GS300 or a 5 series. I really like the seats, front and rear. Did I mention the car was comfortable? <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/wink.gif"><BR>I'm sure the overall driving dynamic probably can't be compared to any European sport seden, but for the price you pay, that's a hella bang for the bucks.<BR>The rear tail lights are growing on me...slowly, but not sure how far it can get. <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/tongue.gif"> I suggested my coworker to get the black one, that way it can kinda hide the ugly tail lights. Alright, not ugly...just DIFFERENT. The car looks very nice in red for some reason, but that's the kinda color that I might wake up someday and ask myself why I chose the color then.<BR>The driver's side to side leg room wasn't too impressive, mainly the center console took up all the space.<BR>Overall, it was a nice daily commuter/grocery getter that I would not feel bad showing up with to a high scale cocktail party or country club. In another word, if my credit history was good enough, you'd be seeing roaming around in a black G35 tomorrow. <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/wink.gif"><BR>
are those wheels stock??<BR>and personally... I think I would still have to go with a Nissan Maxima. Being more of a drivers car with a 6 speed, limited slip as well as the navi, xenons etc. And with every option on the SE model it comes in at $32,532.00. And though I think I might like the G's tail lighs a little more, I think the Max is a much better looking car over all.<BR>Just my two cents...<P>

And what I mean by "test-driven" doe snot include the AVERAGE drive that a Nissan dealer may have taken you, around the corner. I mean, cornering, sudden braking, stance of car while accelerating...you don't have to beat the ca but put it under real life conditins...it is ATROCIOUS! That is butt-ugly to begin with. The only thing the Maxima has going for it is that wonderful V6 engine. Other than that, it is a <B><I>mediocre</I></B> car.<P>Yannis<P><P>
Kai,<P>You really need to get into the drivers seat of the G35 and test-drive the hell out of it. I think that you will become more infatuated with it than you are now. It is really that good, and it betters most of the Euro competition in driving feel IMH0. It might still be a notch below the 330i, but I feel it definitely betters the A4 3.0 QMS, C320-S, and S60 T5-S in pure driving dynamics. Of course it doesn't have a lot of Euro features and class though, but take it for a spin. <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/smile.gif"><P>Austin,<P>The Maxima SE is a nice car, but not much of a drivers car compared to the G35 which uses a totally different RWD/FM 4-wheel multilink aluminum suspension platform IMHO. People do have different tastes, so that is cool, but I just can't get used to the styling of the Maxima. When the G35-S comes this fall with the short-throw 350Z 6-speed manual, I think it will be best in class. On paper it looks like a great car. I just can't warm up to the design. I prefer the dimensions of the Altima, but they chintzed with that car too much and it's fwd.
