I should get some new plugs for my car, a 2001 xc70 w. 24turbo 5 cyl. Most online sites list 6 to 10 different plugs for my model. any suggestions. thanks, carl
Most folks will attest that Bosch plugs of any type do not work well. I've used NGK and they work OK, but frankly the best plugs I've used in my XC are Champions. Nothing fancy, just plain old Champions. Pretty much the same with all my Volvos which is a bit interesting in that I've had great luck with both Bosch and NGK on most of my other cars.
Some folks will tell you to do OEM from the dealer. Those plugs look to be either Champions or Beru, so don't spend the extra money just so they can say Volvo on them. Volvo buys their plugs from a supplier, such as Champion. Go direct and save a couple of bucks. By the way, I go with the spec called for by the plug manufacturer (i.e. NGK or Champion) and as I said they work fine with proper tip colour, etc.
thanks, just bought some iridium ngks and will install when they arrive. oem stuff is nice but spark plugs, come on now, just dont believe volvo has proprietary plugs thanks for the help, carl
