My engine break-in period has been completed and the car has been tuned by MTE.

The car now runs great and redline is now 8000 rpm

I just videoed a 0-200 km/h (0-120 mph) run and according to the video, it was done in 20 secs.

The road was not the best as it was a short road and I had to brake a bit once I hit 200...in fact...i let off on the accelerator a bit as I was too chicken to stay commited to the run.

Anyways...here is the video.

Re: 0-200 km/h run in 20 secs (DisCom)

What all is on that particular car?

Also, I've been wondering, after 6000 the torque falls off pretty quickly, others have suggested you should really shift at 6300 rpms.

But what about cars that have redlines raised and tuned? Should you run it up higher, or does it all depend on your particular tune, in which case you would need a good hp/torque chart from manufacturer, or even better, a dyno from yours.

a standard s60r can do 0-120 in 20 secs, i wonder wot the stats for a standard v70r are?

40 mph: 2.8
50 mph: 4.3
60 mph: 5.5
70 mph: 7.4
80 mph: 9.0
90 mph: 11.0

just watched video, u seem to have quite a poor start, bigtime bog, lost u 1 sec there i think

I would agree, and the 1-2 shift is a little miffled.

Damn, that's sweet to see that tach swing around to 8k!!

Insane in the membrane!

NICE job. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif http://********************/smile/emthup.gif http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

next time, you need to remember your launch sequence...

1. Set boost controller to high boost (1.8bar) and not leave it at the low setting (1.1bar)

2. Set advance mode

3. DSTC - off

4. Rev to 4500rpm and clutch dump

5. Hang on for dear life.

What was the ambient temperature for the car & driver stats that you're quoting? I too agree that there were probably a couple of seconds lost through bogging down and the first gearchange. 5.5s 0-60 in the car & driver test means there was hardly any time lost on those counts.

Are you really dumping the clutch at 4500? Do you break the wheels loose with that kind of launch?

DisCom:

Just being picky but 120mph is 192Km/h.

What break-in are you taking about, your odometer shows 39303Km?

Zigger posted 0-200Km/h in 21 sec. His only mod was BSR/PPC.
Tell us more about your car, what did MTE do for you? It's these guys, right: http://www.mteworks.com/about_us.html

120Mph=192Km/h. DisCom got to 200Km/h in 20 secounds, is there a 1 second difference from 192 to 200?

One more point: Canadian cars are allowed to have up to +9% error on the speedometer. My T5 was smack on +9% (yeah, lucky me). When my T5's speedo showed 200Km/h I was actually doing 185Km/h according to my GPS and to OBD-2 (and HU803).

My S60R's speedo seems to be spot on but I wonder how accurate DisCom's and Ziggers. Even if the speedio is accurate this kind of 'video test' is not very accurate.

Back in time when Volvo used VADIS it was possible to "alter" the accuracy of the speedo, shhht don't tell this further

looked at review cant see any mention of temps "s60ruk"

Thanks for checking. Ambient temps do play quite a big part in the equation and I do think fellow R owners in the far east are up against it in that respect, sometimes as much as 20% down on power compared to similarly tuned cars in cooler climates.

Re: (DisCom)

With cold temps and good launches I was doing 0-120 in 17 secs in a car with BSR, CAI, BMC, DP, Cat-back. Just for reference.
