      There's a tool we used to call a pickle fork that's like 2 chisels side by side that is easier to use or:
      
      Go to Autozone and borrow (for free) their ball joint separator.
      
      Or, get a BFH and:

      That is used if separating from the control arm. For the knuckle, it's different.
