So I have been snooping around and I am wondering if anybody knows where a lumen chart is for 35W vs 55W vs Halogen bulbs and what people think of the lighting difference between the three. I am on the fence between 35W and 55W HID and my color will either be 6000k or 8000k. The lumen difference between 35W and 55W is about 1000, specifically 3100 and 4000, respectively. I don't really want to run around with normal lights that looks like my brights are on all the time. That is why I am leaning towards 35W. But I'm not sure. Opinions?

There is a huge difference between halogens and HID's. Normally, HID claim to be about 3x brighter than halogens. 50 watt kits are about 30% brighter than the 35 watt kits. I have a slightly used 50 watt slim ballast digital kit for sale that I can definitely hook you up with, if your interested. Let me know

So whereas HID is putting out 3000 lumen for 35W halogen are putting out only 1000. I suppose with 35W being 3x brighter I probably need to save that 50 dollars and apply it somewhere else. Aluminum door pins and bezels eh, eh?

Conversation (email) below btwn me and John at Sharp about a week ago. They have a color sheet on thier website for temps

How much brighter is the 35w from stock roughly?

Sean,
About 150-200%.

Sean,
The 50w kit is a lot brighter than the 35w kit - about 30-35% brighter.
