Yes. We know. You mention it in every single thread. We get it.
They are great cars! It's hard to go wrong with Volvo or Mercedes-Benz. You get what you pay for. They are neck and neck. There are other good cars but atleast in the used market, they are a lot more expensive. So that's why I say that! A modern Aston Martin or a Porsche 911 I still think would be a great buy too but that's a different category.

The Mercedes is quite nice but significantly more expensive than the V90 CC and budget wise the V90 is more of less as much as I'm willing to pay.
Ya if you are buying new the Mercedes-Benz is more expensive for sure. The V90 is very well priced for what you are getting and an incredible value. I don't know how they do it. It also happens to be one of the most reliable too. The V90 I feel like is a very special car too in a way. There is nothing really like it..

I'll add a couple of points here. First, not only is the V90 lower and better-handling than the XC90, I think it rides better, too. There's less need for starchy suspension because the car is inherently more balanced.

The Ultimate does always seem to be the trim level for me, because of the Harmon Kardon etc. Is the heated steering wheel standard on that trim level, too?

On the subject of Mazdas ... nice cars, well-made for the price, but NOT luxury cars. The automatic transmission in my ex-Mazda 3 was so bad I wished it was a CVT. Yes, really. Mazda is a really small company and their powertrains in particular lack polish.
Definitely better ride and handling balance in a V90CC. This is why it's my favourite.

Love my Volvo, but Android Automotive is pretty bad. Sensus was much better design-wise. The center display wasn't designed for Android, so all the buttons near the edges are hard to press because the casing around the screen isn't flat against it. If you do like to fine tune temperature, it will be a pain to use the controls.

Service 1 cost around $300 in Vancouver, BC. (shocked to see there was a $35 charge for Misc Shop Supply for Repair Order which apparently is standard charge for..... service??)

Volvo isn't immune to cost cutting, nickle and diming etc but they seem to be embracing the new pay to play concept a bit much.

For the OP, the upcoming Mazda CX-70 is also an option, a 2-row version of the CX-90, but nobody has seen it yet. I asked my Mazda dealer about it and they made it sound like it was still "a ways away" as we say in my family. And I doubt it will be any more comfortable than the CX-90 ... just a bit cheaper.

Well good news everyone, I'm soon going to be a proud owner a new V90 CC :). My bank account isn't as happy but who cares!
Congrats - it's only money!

Congratulations! It's a car you'll enjoy for decades to come!

The seats in the Volvos are wonderful! It is a pleasure riding or driving in them. The 90 is very roomy, much more than the Outback. I would suggest driving the 90, I believe you would really enjoy it. We have some friends that have had many 90, we have had a 2018 XC60 almost a year. The wife's auto, I did not want a Volvo. We live in rural Tennessee, the closest dealer is 128 miles from our town. But, I enjoy driving or riding in the Volvo.

I just took delivery of a 2023 V90 CC Ultimate. It's nice for all the reasons you've probably already read. I'm a fan.

I am disappointed in the amount of decontenting that's happened in the facelift, particularly the 23MY.

-No more drive selector. Switching form Polestar to comfort is now buried in the menus. Pure cost cutting.
-No more motorized cargo cover
-Simplified rear armrest
-Many functions in Sensus no longer available in AAOS. AAOS is smooth and snappy but very much still in Beta. Can't even have Maps and Spotify sharing the screen.
B&W sounds settings dumbed down.
-Can't play music off USB stick without janky third party app.
-Simplified glove box
-no more gas strut for loadfloor, flip up cargo divider also gone.

You're not missing anything with the 21" wheels. They make it so the Cross Country can't handle railroad tracks and it look like a Donk imho.
I tried to get the dealer to downsize them, but no dice; they spec them to extract more money from you...

The motorized load cover delete is a US market-specific thing, along with the removal of the (awful) wireless phone charger. My Mid EU (German) spec MY23 V90 CC has both.

For about 30 € in parts shipped from my dealer in Germany to the US, I added the gas strut back, along with most that was removed in all markets. It shouldn't be this way, especially on the highest of trims, but I just love the V90CC and I'm glad I snagged one of the last.
