If the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump were changed in 2014 at 90k miles, and now is at 190k, when would you do it again?

I thought 10 years or 120k mile interval?

And typical cost is what, $1500 or so?

Yes! that is what the owners manual says. I would address this service as soon as possible to be on the safe side. $1500 sounds high to me unless you are thinking dealership service. But if you can get the cam seals done along with the T belt job at the same time, it seems more feasible to me. You also might consider a PCV service with those miles.

The reality is the car might not be around in another 10 years/100k. Would be great if it is, but who knows. The point though is... you're not saving any money waiting. If it needs done one more time, just do it now and have the peace of mind. If the car is still around in 10 years... it could well be from taking good care of it!

Do it now. I just changed a TB with roughly 105K on it, while it looked good overall, I did find a couple of small cracks. The tensioner and idler were still fine, but you're better off with piece of mind. Not to mention this is way cheaper and easier than the fallout from a belt or tensioner failure.

Volvo Cars of Gilbert did the work. I don't remember all the shops I called, but one was The VoVo Shop near the airport, but they are permanently closed now.
I was surprised that the dealership's prices were competitive with other shops. Maybe that means auto shops in Phoenix over charge?
