Yes. The 10 speed is 3.4 sec to 60mph if you can get it to hook up. The best I have achieved is 3.5 sec but that was laying rubber all the way to 110mph before I could give it 100% throttle and get it to stick. None of that matters really. Its just a ton of fun. Our T8 is a different kind of joy.

current build……2500+whp and 2450lbs race weight. All I’m saying is, careful who you are trying to impress. My c30 (current version) wouldn’t be gapped by your caddy, let alone where it’s headed this spring.

That looks cool! That is a full fledged race car. Probably just about undriveable in everyday use. Still awesome. No comparison.

If that isn't "quick" then I guess my perception is not where yours is. I think it is just so much fun!

my current build…..2500whp 2450lbs scaled. I have no idea what those 2 85mm snails running methanol fed from a 25 gal/minute mechanical pump to a 415 cubic” billet block will do on a small tire NHRA under 5sec. Cert. Will do but I’m guessing that it would eat that “Supercar” and crap it’s left over car-cass out somewhere along the way. I’m just trying to say, be careful who you are trying to impress.

Agreed. No comparison. Neither is your caddy to a Volvo SUV……see my point?

Ok you win. I was just making conversation. Enjoy the evening.
Same here, happy holidays. The caddy is probably loaded with creature comforts etc. which we all enjoy.

When I bought the T8 I also looked at Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Had it for a while, was super fun to drive with 0-60 in 3.5s. From the outside looks just like regular Stelvio, but actually has an engine and drive drain developed by Ferrari.

But considering I have a family and sometimes do longer road trips the T8 made more sense, while still being fast.
Wasn't ready to go pure electric back then. T8 has been great in that regard also. Will consider only EVs next time.

So here’s the thing…the irrational part of me wanted to get a Durango Hellcat for the family car. The bland and rational part of me wanted a Telluride or Atlas. The XC90 T8 ER (which is a stupid mouthful of a name) gives practically the performance of the Hellcat for ownership costs less of the Telluride or Atlas (using our fuzzy math and planned length of ownership). So yeah, it’s pretty impressive having a car that performs like as hot rod of a production 3-row SUV exists while having that be a fringe benefit of ownership.

Funny thing was I was not trying to measure........shoes. No production car in regards to thrust will compete with a track car with 2500hp. I doubt that car has enough drivability to be useable on any curvy mountain road and would likely be such a handful it would not be enjoyable. So I was not trying to measure up nor was it necessary to put me down for making a comment about one of our cars. I have many friends with VERY expensive cars who when we get together, all ask for a ride in mine because they think it is cool. They all have very obvious flashy sports cars. I think the Caddy is so subtle that if you are not a car person, you might not realize you are staring at one of the best overall performance sedans one could buy that isn't a hybrid or EV. It has soul. Our T8 is more of an instrument for family transportation that is in my opinion a better value and more reliable than a Range Rover, even though that has way more do-dads and cool features. I could not justify spending $145,000 for a vehicle that would never go off road more than a gravel parking lot or an occasional dirt road. Spending $86,000 on our T8 seemed like a bargain by comparison. Thus why we chose the Volvo.

Bottom line is the T8 is brisk from a throttle stand point, smooth and quiet. I hate the engine sound track and it handles acceptably again for everyday use. In a crash there is nothing I would rather be in than the XC90. It is quiet literally one of the safest vehicles on the planet.

I gotta say, that 1 yes, T8s are deceptively quick, and launch hard off the line. Probably harder than any other 2.0 4CYL out there other than the Polestar 1.
And as for the CT5-V Blackwing, SIGN ME UP ALL DAY LONG! The CT4 Blackwing is probably more me, for the money, but that V8 in the 5, WOW.
And ANYTHING under 4.0 0-60 RWD ON THE STREET with street tires it totally nuts. Comparing any factory street car to anything special built for the strip only is pointless, no value at all. (other than the Dodge Demon, which is still a street car)
On the strip, my S90 T8 which is less power, and heavier than a new S60 T8 ER, was dang near as quick as my 392 HEMI (6.4) Challenger at the strip. I think a S60 ER might actually edge it out in the ÂĽ, definitely at launch.
At a traffic light, on normal dirty pavement, the T8 pulls out better than just about anything in its price range. I need to think about what you can't expect to be worried about, that isn't more expensive. Needs to be AWD, and close to 400hp for under say $60,000, hmm.
Well, a Tesla Model 3 Performance would humiliate just about anything at its price point, period. My son in law had one, and for double the price, the Model S Plaid is untouchable, actually painful acceleration on the street.

Guys, watchout...we need to be careful who we're trying to impress. JC let the guy enjoy his caddy...didn't realize this was a Honda forum.

Is it a supercar? No, but the CT5 Blackwing is f*uking awesome and is objectively fast, not too mention sexy as hell. There will always be "something faster."

This is the slow car that apparently doesn't qualify as a super car.

Yeah, that is beautiful. I don't think there is a standard definition of supercar anyways....always been somewhat of a loose concept. In my mind it's basically the exotics, Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren etc

I don't know but anything that is 200+ mph capable qualifies in my mind. Anything that gets a owner of other exotics to hoot and holler followed by scream oh **** when getting a ride I'd say is a qualifier. There has not been a day I have driven it or given a friend a ride in which smiles were not a constant. I am scheduled for the Spring Mountain Driving Academy which comes with the purchase of these cars and that is going to be an awesome experience that very few will ever have. I feel very fortunate. What is funny is how reasonable the performance to the dollar ratio is for this thing. The fact that it only ran me just over $100k for what will be countless experiences of enjoyment is a bargain. I was offered $25k to walk away from it on delivery day. I was then offered $100k to sell it over and above what I paid for it a week later. Because they are so rare and cool that is part of what I like about it. My dealer is having a 120th Anniversary Edition and another standard 5BW arriving sometime in January and when they arrive, I will be there so we can get the three cars together for a photo op. That will likely be the only place in the country where three owners and their cars will be in the same place at the same time. The dealership is making a big thing out of it. They may clear the showroom floor and have us in there for the event. We are still working that out.

Of course there are "faster" cars, but there is something to be said about special experiences. I feel special when driving our T8 because for its intended purpose it is cool. The Blackwing has its own unique level of coolness too, just a different level and meaning. For me that car is an American flag slammed into the ground. It is the embodiment of what I wanted when I was a kid and saw Smokey and the Bandit for the first time. I hoped one day I would have my own burnout beast like the TransAm that was the star of that movie. My Blackwing is the adult modern version of that car from the 70's for me. And I am very privileged to be able to afford such a luxury as well as enjoy it the way I do. We should all be so fortunate in our lives. We only live once. Enjoy every minute of it if you can.

All great points. In looking at the other production cars that can hit 200+mph, they are all (what I would consider) supercars....so I think you get to label it as such! Enjoy it
