I see the 2023 s60 recharge and the 2022.5 xc60 recharge have creep mode. Don’t the s60 and xc60 have the same basic Power train and electronics. I have 2022.5 s60 recharge and would love creep mode turned off. I don’t if that is an option but am curious what the group know about this issue vs various recharge models.

Sensus cars don't have one-pedal-to-zero, I don't think. That was added with AAOS. 2022 S60s are Sensus (IIRC).

Thanks. That’s part of my confusion because the 22.5 xc60 seem to have creep or the ability to turn it off. Buy wouldn’t all the 22.5 still have Sensus with changing over to new infotainment in 23?

XC90 switched to AAOS '23.0

XC60 switched to AAOS '22.0

The 2023 over the 2021? Absolutely. I have confidence they'll continue to improve/update the AAOS, which is probably the biggest thing holding the 2023 back right now.

Things I love about the 23 over the 21:
  • Creep Mode (makes driving the car so much more intuitive)
  • Increased Range / EV power (I never worry about accidentally turning on the ICE)
---- As an added note, the EV power is sufficient to "accelerate" through a turn in a way that I would with a normal ICE car. Like, you can shift the weight of the car through the acceleration of the rear. Meaning, the car feels more oversteery than understeery. It's much more pleasant as a driving experience.
  • AAOS / Google Maps / Spotify, etc (I can finally retire my wireless android auto dongle)
  • Ride seems quieter and smoother (I've found more sound deadening materials & suspension must have changed slightly, I think it rides higher than the 2021).

Things I love about the 21 over the 23:
  • I miss my exterior styling kit (made the car seems so much sportier), although the dark theme exterior is super cool on the 23.
  • Steering wheel commands for car (had a lot more options in the 21 over the 23), this could change over time (with over the air updates)
  • The traditional sunroof control (this new tactile vs physical button is meh)
  • The sporty wheels on the 21 vs the EV efficient wheels on the 23 (I understand why they made this change, it's probably worth a few miles of extra range)

10/10 happy, would make the switch again.

I am guessing this means creep mode is turned off. Doesn't creep mode allow the car to move while the foot is off the brake where when its off, the car is stationary? Or with it off, the car will come to a complete stop without you physically using the brake.

If so the question I have is about mechanical braking. are they used by the car for this final stop or does the car disengage the transmission or does brake regen capture the last few MPH and brings the car to 0. I am guessing its the computer telling the mechanical brakes to cut in at a final stage.

From Volvo: Creep mode can facilitate progress at low speed, e.g. in traffic queues or in car parks. When the function is active the car will move slowly in the selected travel direction without the accelerator pedal being used.

I'm not sure how to properly answer your question.. I think that the car will coast to a stop (I need to test this).. if you're going from 30->0. The difference is if you're trying to inch forward (like, pulling your car into a garage/parking spot.. in the 2021, you had to fight the EV system that wanted to slow/stop you, so I had to sort of hover my foot over the brake and give it throttle.

In the 2023, the car will sort of "glide" forward, as if the engine is idling and there's like 1-3 mph of "energy" moving through the wheels. This makes it a lot easier to manage the car at very low speeds.

In the AAOS ui, you have the option to turn this off, but I really love it. It mimics the behavior of a traditional gas engine/car at idle.

Thanks for the response. Yes please check it out. On the the 2022.5, the car by default mimics the behavior of a traditional gas engine/car at idle and will "creep" forward if you take your foot off the brake. And there is no way to change. Also the regen braking will bring the car from 30 to 4 mph but the car will continue creeping from that point onward. I would love to be able to change this by turning off creep so the car will come to a complete stop without using the brake at all. Please give it a shot to see which option is better for you. Natural mimic might make sense but if we extend the logic of B mode then seldom stepping on the brakes might be nice as well.

This is mostly true: the car will not go to a complete stop without using the brake and this cannot be changed.

However, at least some models have a mode where once stopped, the car will stay stopped if you let off the brake. There's a setting for this. In that mode, you have to press the accelerator to start going again. I tried it but didn't like it: I had to press the accelerator a fair amount and then the car jerked forward rather than smoothly accelerating. But, then, I didn't practice much so maybe it's on me ...

My 2021 v60 PE also has creep that will move the car forward slowly unless you keep your foot on the break. I can't find a way to disable it. I found it annoying at first (først automatic transmission car I've driven since the 1980s), but have come to appreciate it more. So now it's not that annoying anymore to me.

Great to know. Yes creep can not be disabled until 2023 in all s60 and v60.

btw does polestar automatically mean hybrid or does imply optimization?
