No whine at idle…polestar/dynamic mode opens valve to second exhaust pipe which makes engine/exhaust louder. But nothing resembling a loud whine in our polestar’d t6

Ditto here.

Since you mentioned it, a side note for those who never noticed - if you use the Polestar/Dynamic mode a lot, both your tailpipes get dirty. For those who don't or non-P*d, only the left one does.

It's a nice trick to help evaluate how much value you're getting out of the upgrade by the amount that both pipes get dirty :ROFLMAO:

Has anyone noticed any supercharger whine during idle when in polestar mode? I have a loud whine but it could be normal. I have never owned a car with a supercharger before.
Mine whines, of course with windows down it’s more pronounced, doesn’t whine as much as this did though!

OMG. Born in 1970 here and at some point as a youngster, my mom had a pale green mint Comet that had been gifted form her mom and dad. That was the family car until I was like 6-8 when we graduated to a Ford LTD. I had totally forgotten about the Comet until this!!

As Tech mentioned, polestar optimization affects ALL modes. IMO the sweet spot for an xc90 t6 is comfort mode with polestar installed
I have polestar installed on my 2016 T6. I totally agree. For the transmission re-mapping alone. Polestar mode is fun at the stoplight but comfort is transformed for every day driving. Worth every penny.

My dealership usually has some good year-end/holiday discount coupons for polestar installation.

I was just looking at the polestar engineered site for my car and apparently these are the performance specs for acceleration.

Polestar Engineered Optimisation | Polestar Engineered

Acceleration 0-100 mph (s)
Original:
6.8

Optimized:
6.7
(-1%)

I think there's a typo. I am pretty sure that my car can't do 0-100 in 6.8 seconds, unless it is on a very steep downward slope!
No typo, that's what it should be getting pretty much
Edit: yes, they mean kph lol -- thought you meant the typo was in the numbers

I think they meant 100kph (62mph)

Very underrated Volvo, 0-100mph is only slightly behind the 2022 Lamborghini Aventador!

100% they mean't 0-100 kph (62 mph). I wish the Polestar site would tell you what the 30-50 and 50-70 mph are. Since 0-60 the .1 lower 0-60 mph doesn't show the whole picture when the majority of power bump is in the midrange and a slight increase in 300rpm for optimal shifts. I feel like the 30-50 and 50-70 mph increases would be a little more dramatic than the 0.1 sec increase for 0-60. The reason why I'm saying this is because once I'm already moving (on ramp) and gun it, it feels like a bigger increase in performance than from a stop/dig.

At idle no, but in the mid range you can hear it. Full throttle at high RPM engine is too loud to hear the whine though. However, this is something I heard before I got the Polestar Optimization so it's specific to the Twin charge models and not necessarily a Polestar thing. Although, Polestar probably makes it a little louder since its producing more power now and sooner in the power bands than before I did the upgrade.

For those who live in San Diego, CA. San Diego Volvo has a $300 discount on the Polestar Optimization. Still, with the discount I'll be paying about $1300 including labor. The discount expires 12/31/22. You're basically getting labor for free.

From my experience, the Polestar definitely made changes to the Comfort and Dynamic mode. I can't tell of any difference in the Eco mode or the Off Road mode. I would do it again in a heart beat. I also got better gas mileage.
