I know the later 2022 models no longer come with the under hood sound insulation mat. Has anyone bought one and installed it themselves? I've found the part through dealer part stores but I can't tell if it comes with the clips preinstalled or if they have to be purchased separately? Do you think it's worth adding it back to add some noise insulation?

According to the parts list, the clip is purchased separately

Just took ownership of a 2022 S60 Black Edition Recharge about two weeks and no hood insulation pad???
Why?
From what I've been able to tell it sounds like a cost cutting measure by Volvo. Kinda sucky given the price of them. And for the people out there that say they don't do anything, on Volvo's own part sites it's called a sound insulation/absorber pad. So it obviously makes the engine sound somewhat quieter.

Volvo is not the only brand doing that. I had a 3 series and bmw deleted that mat halfway through the model run. I saw the same kind of angry threads an bimmerpost.

Having driven xc60s with and without that part, I'm willing to go out on a limb and predict that nobody will begin to notice a difference.

Decontenting is annoying though.
