With fuel prices at crazy levels in the UK I decided to see what I could get out of my 2020 XC90 B5 Petrol on a recent motorway trip.

So - 106 miles, a steady 65mph on pilot assist, premium unleaded fuel returned 45.5mpg ! Driving journal included below.

So if you’re not in a rush, backing off 5mph can get you pretty incredible economy for a 2.5 tonne car!

I’ve observed similar gains in our T8 on long trips. Holding at 60mph and I get mid to high 30s on ICE. T8 Pure is great for around town but for highway/long trips using “Hold” for saving battery for later is much like driving a regular Hybrid (nonPHEV).
