I can confirm vdash is now working with VOE cable. Probably they have upgraded the version.
I used a cheap Chinese BMW ENET cable.
I could read DTCs but not clear them
I confirm as well I was able to clear most of the codes with Ebay VOE cable. I also was able to do a reset for the transmission adaptations.

When you clear the adaptations, do you just go drive normally after? Or do you follow a specific drove cycle?

Be careful there are different commands in the TCM. No clue what they all mean...

I pressed the one that says: clear adaptations data.

I drove straight away after that (like normal but avoided hard accelerations).

Can VDASH reprogram the tire circumference/diameter values to display the correct speed if larger diameter tires are used? Pre-2020, the 20" tire size was 255/35/20, now they're coming with 245/40/20, which are 0.7" larger in diameter, the extra sidewall sounds enticing, and the speedometer difference is trivial, but just curious whether VDASH could do this.

What options is available to change/configure for the SPA platform ? Before spending money on getting the PIN for the CEM, it would be interesting to know what I am able to do? Is it possible for example to add the unit for the towbar?

You can get your PIN for free online based on a Vida log.

I believe you can buy and load the towbar module with Vida subscription (3 days), not vdash

While everyone enjoys programming and clearing codes (Good for you guys) but here I am not able to even connect to my car using J2534 to USB device purchased on eBay for $110 (VidaDice clone) The software keeps searching for the hardware. Updated drivers and reinstalled VDash without success. Just need to scan the codes on my wife's 2018 XC60 so I can take it in for state inspection. Has anyone had a similar experience and found a workaround?

Why don't you use a VOE cable. Available on eBay for $25...

Also, ELM 327 can clear check engine light.

My only Windows based PC does not have Ethernet port, just the USB (Not sure if that matters)

Is the ELM 327 compatible with newer Volvo’s? 2018 and above?
They do make USB-Ethernet adapters, I think they are pretty cheap too.

There's a USB to Ethernet adapter. Try that.

Yes ELM 327 works fine with new Volvos. However, don't expect much from it other than reading/clearing basic codes.

Look for the new Vdash Bluetooth dongle. See if it's worth buying.

I'm using a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 which has NO USB-A ports or Ethernet ports, but still got it working.

I use a USB-C-USB-A adapter, then use a USB-A to Gigabit ethernet adapter connected to my old BMW E-Net cable.

Works like a charm!

Thanks, I'll try that. I have an Autel Bluetooth dongle that works well on my 2016 XC90 but is useless on my wife's 2018 xc60. When I finally get VDash running it will solve all my life problems :D

Do you also have VIDA installed on the same computer you are using vDash?

If so, that may be the issue...

Try uninstalling VIDA and leaving only vDash installed.

Or using separate computers for each system.

There is a dedicated subForum for OBD/CANBUS, etc for those that want to go deep into this subject. Be warned - Volvo is aware of VDASH and others changing configs. They are taking notice and taking action --- some cars are getting locked out of VIDA and require Volvo corporate approval to unlock. While it's nice to be able to turn off the headlight washers, changing other things from your home market configuration could create a challenge at your next dealer visit.

There is a thread in this subForum:
