Hey guys! I currently have a 2019 XC90 R design that I am thinking about trading in to the dealer for a plug in hybrid. What kind of pricing has most been been offered? How much below MRSP? Also, just to verify, the plug in hybrid is eligible for the $7500 tax credit, correct?

I believe the XC60 extended range is coming in to dealers now. As for the XC90, not sure they are hitting the dealers yet? Both would qualify for the 7500 rebate.
 
The extended range cars are $7500, the regular ones are only $5419. We're not giving any discounts on new cars even though we did just double our available inventory. As of this morning we have TWO new Volvos!
 
I would say, but I do always caution for the lingo folks use. For example... I'm saying MSRP, but you would still get any eligible rebates you might qualify for. And some states let you take the destination off the sale price... so if it's $1095 under MSRP and then they tack on the $1095 destination charge back on.... or places add crazy high document fees beyond the actual cost, or even other fees and addendums tacked on... I do suspect the bigger cities might have a better chance at a discount, but from my experience, there is a bigger chance of funny business too. Not to mention marking up the rates, low balling trades, making the warranties higher... lots of ways to make money while giving the cars away for less than I sell mine for.
 
Thanks! so any discount on MSRP should be considered a good deal at this time? several dealers in chicago have a few on the lot. Hopefully they are willing to negotiate a bit.
If you want the extended range car then double check the sticker - I thought they were still held up at port awaiting EPA certification.

Yes, it looks like it would be as it's labeled "Extended Range" but it looks like it's in transit so most likely held at port like all of the other extended range vehicles.
 
Yep, they are still at port waiting for certification... they show up on dealers websites now much earlier than they used to. But yes, that one will be for the $7500 rebate. It says right on their page it's in transit, but you wouldn't be the first customer to show up expecting it to exist on ground.

That particular car is expected to arrive 3/9/22 currently. It has arrived at the port. Not sure which port cars for Chicago land out, we're still dealing with issues in Baltimore for our region due to Volvo doing a changeover with who handles their port processing.
 
I paid MSRP minus $500 affiliate offer (not a previous Volvo owner for the $1k) for my non extended range purchased in December. There was a dealer 1 hour south advertising a healthy $4k off but offered much less on my trade so it was almost a wash to my local dealer. Larger cities seem to be more aggressive with the markups. You’re not going to be able to search the ER online. Like said above all these cars are going to be on transit and most likely sold already. Will need to order one
 
If you can wait I would do the OSD program as it is 7% off plus any A-plan or any additional discount you can get. I got my extended range XC60 in MN 7% off, plus 500.00 for the A-plan and another 500 bucks off. However, I won't bet it until June 21, when Volvo flys us to Sweden.
 
I just paid msrp for a T6. Very healthy offer on the trade in so I felt ok about it. Had to wait almost four months for it to come in. Most of their higher end one including the recharge are presold allocations like mine. The ones that do actually hit the lot unsold go very fast. Good luck and lock in quickly.

Totally agree. In this environment, OSD 7% off MSRP is way to go

If the car is showing on their website it's not presold. Presold cars get a customer contracted on the back end of our system and then it pulls it from the website view.
Not necessarily true. Mine was on the website for over a week. Of course I just had a couple $k to hold it as opposed to actually cutting the deal. That is actually how I finally figured what I was paying. Lol.
 
That's true... if the dealership doesn't contract it to you then it will still show available. We contract our inbound units since it's the only good way we have to track what cars are available, but not every dealer lets all their sales staff see the inbound cars, so if it's a single point manager they might just keep a list.

It did seam like a strange process. Putting money down on something that I didn’t have a build sheet or anything. Wasn’t even totally sure of any accessories that would be on it. Worked out fine in the end and was glad I had locked one up.
 
Yeah, I was taking deposits for our unknown inbound XC40 recharges the past month. First right of refusal. I took two deposits. Another sale person had a customer that wanted one but didn't want to put money down until she knew what the options were... We got one unit marked for our store... So my first customer is getting the new one and my repeat 2nd customer is getting our demo, which they already said they were open to. And the customer that wanted to wait to see what would be available has nothing to see, from us anyhow.
