On the intercooler there is a sensor on the discharge port. Does anyone know what this sensor is reading and whether it can be displayed by the Torque App?

I think you might be talking about the manifold air pressure sensor (MAP).

Automatic transmission temperature is correctly displayed in "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" for Android and iPhone.
Pretty cool, has plenty Volvo-specific PIDs:
- engine oil temperature,
- coolant temperature,
- AT fluid temp,
- catalyst temp,
- MAF rate g/sec,
- battery SoC and charging current,
- AT gear and torque,
- DPF soot (g) and DPF temperature (diesel)
- Aircon pressure and front cooling fan speed

Works best in 2008-2014 Volvos. There are two profiles: Volvo OBD2, and Volvo 2010+

Does it pull boost pressure as well? My ScanGauge II too does not pull boost pressure readings on my S60. My old P1 S40 it pulled boost pressure reads from, but not my S60 for some reason.

Check this in torqueapp:
  • Custom PID -> new
  • PID: 221e3f
  • full Name: as you choose
  • shortname: Temp A/T
  • min: -40
  • max: 200
  • multiplier: x1
  • Celsius
  • formula: B
  • Header: 7E1

Sorry for the -very- late reply on this one but I am looking to get transmission temperature reading working on a 2005 XC90 with a V8 engine.
The above settings did not work. Does anyone have the correct PID for my car?

You will get it in Car Scanner Elm Obd2. No pids required, just choose Volvo Platform 2 29-bit profile.

Tried that and works! Now to find a way to keep that app active while driving longer stretches: at this point the screen shuts down at the general Android phone screen timeout.

Thanks so far 🙃

Any info on what the safe temperature range is for the transmission?

Just wanted to confirm this setup worked on our 2011 XC70 T6, though I used OBDLink app instead of Torque.
What transmission temps are people seeing with hard use (towing, track days, etc)?
