New 2022 XC60 B6 and new to all modern Volvo tech. Downloaded Volvo Cars app 5.3.1 to my Samsung. Can't start climate. Red message "Climate could not be started". What are possible reasons? Could it be not having a screen lock code on the phone? When trying to unlock the car, it says "Could not unlock. To unlock your Volvo you need to have a screen lock on your device or enter your Volvo ID password, due to security reasons." At least that's a message everyone can understand! Not just "can't do it".

I heard a voice in my head say, "Well, try setting a code, idiot!". So, with that I'm locking and unlocking. But, still no climate start.

Got 5.3.1 update now. I start parking climate in morning by the timer. But in afternoon the app still shows parking climate is running and the stop button. I can stop it just fine but this is misinformation.

How to start parking climate from Volvo On Call after...
2020 S90 T8. After latest update for VoC, starting parking climate requires starting the car, which is not possible with charging cord plugged in. Before the update, I have the option to start parking climate but not start the car when charging cable is plugged in. This is no longer possible...

@FusionRedXC60 I know there are different capabilities with T8 setup, we have B6. Maybe I'll try to contact Volvo dealer or web-based support.

So, I'm on Volvo Cars app 5.4.0 now. For climate start, trying to set timer, it says "timers not available while data sharing is off." In Android Automotive, where do I manage this data sharing?

Not having a MY22, I cannot say with certainty.
However, you would need to turn on data sharing in your vehicle (e.g., Settings -> Communications -> ...
Yeah, can't find it and all documents are for Sensus.

Hi @XC60_Owner, the climate features (like remote start) are not yet available for the B5 or B6 engine cars. The engine remote start is expected soon for those engine types
Thanks for the info. Software developers could include more context appropriate error messages so owners aren't confused.

Has anyone else had success with remote start via an android phone? I'm on a Google Pixel 6 with Volvo Cars App version 5.8.0 and my car is running version 1.7. I'm getting the "Climate could not be started" error.

I think I'm paired successfully? I can lock/unlock the doors just fine. I'm not sure what permissions to check in the car. The other thing I noticed from my wife's Volvo app on her iphone (which she can remote start with successfully) is that she has a list of available timers to choose for how long she wants to leave the car running for. On my Pixel when I choose the Timers tab I get a message that says "Timers not available". Also just to clarify, it's a 2022 XC60 B6.
Ah, won't be functional on Android until middle of Jan. IOS works, just Android needs more work.
It's Jan 22. How's that Android code working? Is anyone with an Android able to start their Android Automotive, B engine cars? Or, did you mean Jan 2023? That's where my expectations are.
