Hey everyone,

A few days ago I finally took delivery of my '22 XC60 Plugin-Hybrid... and immediately got hit by a problem. The first time I got into the car (unlocked and open driver's door), it started making a beeping sound from the front-left speaker (the one with memory seats) that wouldn't go away no matter what. It was so annoying that even the sales person who was supposed to show me the car got nervous and couldn't properly show me around.

Long story short, after a lot of trouble and a totally spoiled delivery experience, I had to drive to the dealership (which is in another location than the showroom) and wait for about an hour for what was described as a "Computer remapping/re-installation". Before that they did some resets, removed the rear battery pole and plugged in to the computer. They didn't mention if the computer showed any errors. The computer remapping or whatever did the trick though and for about 2 days it fixed the issue.... until today.

While entering my garage and going in with normal parking sensors going on and off properly, the beeping sound came back and not going away. It's probably parking sensor related because the volume increases/decreases when I adjust the parking sensor volume. Interestingly, it doesn't go away if I turn off the sensors in the 360 camera interface.

The sensors are clean and not looking odd or covered with something.

Obviously I'll take it back to the dealership (2 visits in less than 10 days, I don't know what this says about Volvo reliability) but does anyone happen to have any idea what might be the issue here? I'd love to give the dealership some instruction or I am sure they are just going to to do the brain remapping thing and tell me they fixed it.

Thanks!

Solution
As @anito23 mentioned below, doing a reset on the Android system seems to fix the issue. Here's what I did and made the beeping go away:
1. Unlock the car
2. Open driver's door and sit on the driver's seat
3. Do not start the car
4. Keep pressing the screen home button for 40 seconds. After screen wiping mode appears keep pressing. At some point the system turns off, beeping goes away, and reboots into normal state.

Hope that helps someone!

Unfortunately it is obvious that a lot of the new AA-based MY2022 models have a lot of software problems, but I can’t figure out that Volvo service technicians removed the rear battery pole to solve the problem. Truly unbelievable

Actually removing the pole didnt solve it; they just tried that. Doing the remapping fixed it. For a few days at least.

Obviously they tried new software one time to see if that was the issue which is often times the most likely culprit. Bring me back a second time with that not fixing the issue means they’re likely going to replace hardware. This is very specific diagnostic instructions for parking sensors…. Just bring it back and let the technician properly diagnose it I will it sucks to have to go back a second time a person really Hass to be patient and at least have an opportunity to Shiva software fault solve the problem. Intermittent problems are the worst. I’m sure it will be easily solved the second visit.

Hi,

Sorry for my english.

I had the same problem on the last week.

My manager received a response from the factory to solve the problem. I had to press a button on the multimedia system for the 40 seconds for Android OS hard reset. It helped and beeping sound went away.
Can you explain which button and whats the proccedure?

Hopefully he doesn't owe you a beer for each time you need to do this procedure!!

Rebooting the computer (which it seems like this long press might be) doesn't seem like a full solution, but only a temporary one. I guess we'll see..

Same issue here, and this worked for me as well. Thanks!

Geez, totally agree! For those who have experienced this infotainment-related issue, how many times so far have you had to reset the infotainment for this constant beeping to go away?

@anito23 I owe ya one for that remedy as my damn tone has been on since Thursday so thank you much!

HUGE HELP!! Thank you so much. This happened to me last night after owning the 2022 xc60 plug in hybrid for 6 months. I drove all the way to work listening to that incessant beeping but now it is all gone! Thanks so much!!!

I don't see that this was ever answered by anybody here... Is this a recurring problem, or has it been solved by software updates?
