I work on and restore salvage cars.
Bought my ever first Volvo. Love the car.
Front airbag has been deployed. Replaced.
But now need to located the aibag module to reset/replace but I cannot find it for the life of me!!!

Normal cars have it in the footwell in the center console between driver & passenger's feet, but XC90's I cannot locate anywhere.

Please help!

Per VIDA, the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module is in the transmission tunnel between the gear selector lever and the parking brake. Any interface to the module would be via the ODB port using VIDA/DICE or another Volvo centric tool.

That's as far as I go with this one, good luck with the rest of your project.

Not sure what "normal cars" means... Manufacturers can put them wherever. As mentioned, its under the center console.

Make sure the battery is disconnected before removing it.
Over 35 salvage cars that I fixed and replaced SRS modules, 99.5% of those modules were located nearly in the same spot, in the center between LH & RH foot well under the dash.
Volvo however does things differently.
So that's why I don't classify them as "normal".

You can reset with Volvo VIDA (has to be genuine AFAIK) - I never was able to with a fake copy.
An expensive AUTEL scanner can reset them too ($1000+).
VDASH software might be able to reset as well through OBD with a VIDA or J234 (or whatever its called) standard.
