Hi,

I recently bought without looking at power requirements Viair 85p air compressor (actually I did look, but forgot to verify it).
Based on it's specs the max draw is 15amp.
All cigarette lighter caps say 120w max, i.e. 10amp if I understand correctly. The fuse diagram for cigarette lighters states
15amp fuse.

Hence the question, did anyone try to use either similar air compressor or anything else that hits the limits of the fuse and what were the results ?

Thanks

If it's an issue doesn't it also have alligator clips to use on the posts under the hood? I have the ARB portable compressor that I use off the terminal posts regularly to air back up after overland excursions - which have been several times a week lately :) .

Well, to my shame (or luck ?) since I got car driving license 20 years ago never had to do it (attach anything to terminal posts).
The only time I had dead battery in car, it was at airport and there were "Certified car starter specialist" with golf cart and biiig battery.
