Hey,
Since I bought this car I'm having P1526 code coming back every week.

P1526 is Minimum Throttle Position not learned. (caused engine to struggle during hard acceleration)

Two days ago I started having another ones, which one of them is:
P2138 - Throttle position (TP) or Accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor/switch D/E - voltage correlation
(caused reduced engine power mode)

And another today:
P2118 - Throttle actuator control (TAC), throttle mtoor current - range/performance problem
(caused reduced engine power mode)

I got no VIDA to diagnose it further.
I have already changed (at the start) throttle body for used. I still got old one at home.

Could this be accelerator pedal problem? I can clean at least both connectors coming to TB and pedal. Maybe some connector in CEM is rusted too - but I would have to know which is the throttle body/gas pedal one.
Lastly I can also replace throttle body with my old, but there was a problem with screws already. They were hard to screw on, one was loose and not clutching hard as far as I remember. Inlet manifold can get its ass kicked.

The ETM and pedal modules do not connect to the CEM, they go straight to the ECM I believe. In any case, I'd strongly suspect the accelerator pedal. Without VIDA it's unlikely you can be sure, so perhaps, just find a replacement and see if things improve.

As stated above, VIDA would help diagnose if this is an issue with the accelerator pedal or the throttle body wiring itself. Since you’ve changed the TB, It’s either the wiring loom or the accelerator pedal.

For giggles, try disconnecting the battery for about half an hour. Connect it back up and turn the key to position 2 (ignition on, but do NOT start the car). Wait for 1 minute like this, and then start. In position 2 the TB goes through a learning process to see the min/max positions. You’ll hear it under the hood (sounds like an old dial-up connection). Once the car is started see if the issue persists, and if so then move on to checking the pedal/wiring. This eliminates any improperly learned behaviors from the mix.

I had a P2138 a while ago - for the pedal voltages not being in line with each other - also caused low power mode. Would come on randomly. who knows. Not my first rodeo with that issue though, so I got a new (used) pedal and that fixed it.

Thanks.

First I will try adapting the TB. I have never done this before. If it wouldn't help, I will go straight with used accelerator pedal.

P1526 I'm having especially after highway rides. Dunno why, maybe hard accelerating on high gears, during high speeds.

The other ones I had first time, but it is a sign there is something wrong with AP - let's hope..

Problem solved - I have replaced the accelerator pedal.
At its worst I was getting the P2138 four times a day.

Please have in mind that our pedals were also used in Ford.
In my case the OEM number was 4M51-9F836-AH.

Was the accelerator pedal also causing the P1526? Im getting this problem aswel, but it runs fine on hard acceleration. Only at around 25-28% TPS
P1526 seems stooopid a bit.

Along with this, I have also U0301, which is probably caused by some tune. I am not sure if this modification is not causing P1526 to happen.

I have replaced already throttle body and it didn't change anything.
In my case P1526 happens only when I deep press the throttle when on 6th gear during high speed cruise. Never in any other situation.

I was not on a highway to test the 6th gear yet, but I will try this tommorrow and gonna tell you back.
When P1526 appears my car stutters when accelerating hard, until I clear it.

Here @6ix diagnosed it under Vida and the ECM code for P1526 is ECM-960C.

Definition:
Park/Neutral Signal (Faulty Signal, Signal Too High Or Too Low)

In my case replacing the pedal didn't resolve the P1526.
But what can I see - it happens only when the car goes really high speed, like 180+ kph (on German Autobahn of course). Never ever in any situation.

Can someone say something else about ECM-960C? Maybe someone had it. Reading the "possible causes" helps me nothing.

I have also found correlation between:
P1526 as Engine Control Module (ECM), Torque Signal. Internal Fault

And it seems this is ECM-9800.
Cause:
  • Air leakage in the intake system.
  • Search for failure cause with another stored diagnostic trouble code in the control module.
So in my case it can be software map causing the other ECM code (because I have it) or an air leakage.
