My rear view mirror has black dots, mostly towards the bottom. I'm assuming the paint on the rear of the mirror is deteriorating. Anyone have a solution for this? A step-by-step repair guide would be awesome. TIA.
I did it in an evening. It's not as much work as it looks. If you were in my area I'd give you a hand!k my vR has this disease but F this , it's WAY too much work, man.
This looks like the one I bought. I have an 07 S60R but I imagine the mirror will fit an 04-07....Great writeup!
Did you just search for a generic Volvo S60 mirror on Ebay?
Lol answered before I could askI don't use my rearview mirror.. atleast not the stock one. <3 wide angle clip ons.
https://www.radar-mirror.com/Mirror_Repair_Order.htmlI have pinged radar-mirror.com to see if they can do Volvos... They have done my M5 before, great work.... might be a solution... we'll see.
Nice! I'll post how my repair goes from a slightly less-experienced mirror disassembler
Well done! I bought another mirror to attempt the mod using paint remover so I don't scratch the glass. Will post the results here.Did it. Pics in my thread.

I haven't selected a paint stripper yet. Definitely tape it off and use a q-tip.Tabor got me one from our local pick n pull. What paint remover would you try? Would you tape it off first?use a q-tip?

I have a 15.5 S60, and realize this is a different forum, but my auto dim mirror required replaced. It solidified around the edges, so I'm guessing your only option is to replace the mirror when defects start appearing. My rear view mirror has black dots, mostly towards the bottom.
