Brief, complete loss of power (FPS?)

I have had a couple of instances of dramatic loss of power while accelerating. It happened again today. Around 3-4 thousand RPM, maybe 40 mph, accelerating. Suddenly, it's like I took my foot completely off the gas. Goes on for two or three seconds. Pushing down the accelerator does nothing. Eventually, it starts working like normal again.

I'm guessing this could be pressure sensor related? Or maybe a lot of other things, too...

I would agree it sounds fuel related. Idt a FPS is very much also. Could be worth a shot?

Someone will ask if you have VIDA. do you?

FPS should store a code. It may just be pending .

Mine didnt until it got bad enough, but then it went from pending to CEL really quickly. Check fo5 codes if no misfires.

So I ran to work and back yesterday with the Torque app logging my data to see if I could catch it. Ran fine.

Then I took the kids to the snow cone stand and it stumbled at a light in first gear. Hmm...

i had those symptoms for a very short time and then the fuel pump died while i was doing 75. luckily i was able to coast over to the shoulder. car ran perfectly up to that point.

I ordered the sensor from Rock Auto, $33 shipped it was worth a shot.

That is exactly what mine did when FPS was going bad. Eventually got a code pending.

What flavor snow cone did you end up getting? I went with Blue Razz but the kids wanted Tiger Blood.

My first job was a a snow ball stand and could mix anything I desired. Cherry cola is always good or straight cherry.

It stumbled a couple more times last night. Got the sensor and put in in today. So far so good, fingers crossed.

It's been a month with the new pressure sensor and the loss of power has not returned. So far, it looks like replacing the fuel pressure sensor was the fix!
