Hi guys,

I read a couple of posts but getting conflicting info. So...

For upgrading from 2004 top/bottom hoses style reservoir to the 2005+ bottom/bottom hoses reservoir I need:
Fluid reservoir 30645621 (includes the cap 30680253)
Hose 30744335 - from the new bottom reservoir outlet to the radiator
I should be able to reuse the clamps and existing hose that goes from old reservoir bottom to the pump. The 2005+ cars also come with a different hose for this (called suction hose pn:30740267) but the existing one should also work.

Is that correct?

Thanks!

You need the tank and suction hose. 04 suction hose is shaped differently. If you're buying both new, that's quite pricey. I believe I have a used set I could sell you. PM me if you don't mind used.

I'm not getting how that hose is shaped differently. That hose already goes to the bottom of the reservoir. Here is on my car.

That hose is already the S shape.
The other hose that goes to the top now is the "wrong" shape, but that is not called "suction" hose in Vida.

What am I missing?

This post shows the difference:

I completed the swap on the 2002, will have to do the same on the R. It is very simple, I just cut my old one's tabs off to change it (I find the tabs very hard to disengage).

Here is the before (notice the total wetness):

And here is the after (Thanks to Shurgen for selling me the reservoir and hose :D):

The return line routing is a bit tight to get the existing hose to the bottom, because the fitting is toward the middle of the bottom, but it is very doable.

Got it now. Thanks!

So the minimal list is:
Fluid reservoir 30645621 (includes the cap 30680253)
Suction hose 30740267
Assuming you will stretch a bit the return hose.

If you want everything perfect then add to the above list these items:
Hose 30744335 - the return from the radiator, the long hose to the reservoir. This is more involved to install and requires taking the bumper cover off.
Reservoir hose clamp 988024 - for suction hose to the reservoir
Reservoir hose clamp 988022 - for return hose to the reservoir
Radiator hose clamp 18mm 978171 - for return hose
Steering pump clamp 988024 - for suction hose
Power steering oil 30741424 (or Pentosin CHF 202) - to refill or change the fluid

Ahh, this explains why my return hose is so damn short with the upgraded reservoir. Everything I read said the suction hose and I got a reservoir from the junkyard and installed it saying to myself "Why do I need a new suction hose, I don't need a new suction hose. This is absolutely fine". Only on my FMIC install did I notice the lack of length on the return hose.

You can reuse all of the clamps from your suction and return hoses. The return hose is the same and does not need to be replaced.
