Manual, this is from page 286 of XC60 Twin Engine user's manual.

OK, so am I contradicting (with what I wrote) any of the above? By the way, unlike many people in the auto industry, I am keenly aware of virtually every page of all of our owner's manuals... :D

You are talking about nearly EVERY VOLVO CAR OWNER..... the owners manual is a foreign object to my dealership customers.

By the way, not like it matters or people don't know, but holy crap, the new SPA cars (I imagine CMA now too) have a MUCH better ACC than P3 cars.
It's night and day.

Except auto-pilot. It tried to kill me twice on US-1 lol

Let me say this again.... IT IS NOT AUTO PILOT OR AUTONOMOUS!!!!!!! Its an assist.
Let me say this again, if I had been using it as an Autopilot, I'd be dead.

Volvo could affix a sticker inside the windshield: "DRIVE LIKE YOU NORMALLY DID, WHEN YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT. THEN BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WHEN YOUR CAR SAVES IT, EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T."
It should be next to: IF YOU USE PILOT ASSIST, THE CAR WILL TRY TO SHARPLY SWERVE INTO THE CONCRETE DIVIDER AND SEE IF YOU CAN WRESTLE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK"

You're so freaking hilarious.

That is absolutely incorrect. The ACC will slow you down and even bring you to a stop if the car ahead of you is stopped.
Don't let your credibility fade away.

No issue with any credibility; nobody is infallible. However, I still maintain what I know and what I have experience myself; at low speeds, the ACC will pick up the stationary vehicle and brake enough to stop you before you hit it.

If below 31mph, City Safety alone will brake to stop...

There is no data published at what speed ACC could brake to stop before hitting a stationary car or object.

Okay. Whether ACC did it alone, or seamlessly handed off to City Safety as the car slowed, I am not crazy. My 2016 V60 did stop me, many times, under varying conditions, and without fail. Yes, I was paying attention and would have jumped in otherwise, as Volvo told me to.

Per experience, reported by some often-crusty other posters, the updated versions seem to work even better. :)

Question about Pilot Assist.

In this video, you hear a beep at 19:03 when the driver is using Pilot Assist. Mine doesn't beep. I'm sure I have the sound turned off in a setting somewhere, but I can't find out where. I didn't see any mention of it in the manual.

Are you sure? That tone does NOT happen when you get the first "apply steering" message. It comes later, as a second warning. You will not get it unless you ignore the first message. If you ignore the second one, it will disengage and give you a much harsher tone.

Okay, thanks. Since the video wasn't showing the steering wheel, I didn't know what the driver was doing to make the noise happen. So he was letting go of the steering wheel then, which is not what you're supposed to do, hence the warning beep.

I'm new to this feature, so just trying to get the hang of it.
